Leprechaun by Steadibrick

Post by Bruce N H »

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Steadibrick made this 19 inch tall version of the CMF Leprechaun. It is currently on display at the Fairview LEGO Store in Toronto.

Image

Leprechauns go back to at least the 8th century in Irish folklore, first appearing in the Echtra Fergusa maic Léite, though the guy with the green top hat is really only about a hundred years old, so it's a bit of an anachronism to post him in the Castle MOC forum, but this is just too nice a MOC to overlook.

Wow this is awesome! :D I see that you photoshopped the picture from the case. :D The clover on his left foot is cut off.

Yeah, and I have to apologize for the quality - that photo was taken through the glass on the front of the case and it's not very well lit, but it's the only photo he's posted in his Flickr stream (presumably he'll take more pics after he gets it back from the display window). Add to that the fact that it's a green MOC against a green backdrop and a green baseplate, so cropping it in GIMP wasn't ideal. Kind of a rush job because I forgot to get something up for the holiday until just now.

This guy is awesome! My family did a little bit of a St. Patrick's celebration by eating Soda Bread and beef stew for dinner. It was good, nom nom. :)

Very cool. That is a whole lot of green; I wish I had the supply to do it.

That's a very nice rendition of the cmf, but that is a lot of green to have on hand.
