The Buried Barrel Tavern

Post by vitreolum »

Had a hard time making the rockwork on this one as I didn't have a single cheese at disposal.

Excellent work! The stair looks great, the brickwork and the tiles fitting quite seamlessly together. My favorite part is the use of the sai on the doors though.

Sweet interior scene! I like the colors a lot and the furniture looks very good. As Maedhros said those doors are clever.
And the fig posing really brings it to life :)

Excellent work on the rocks, perfect staircase, inspired use of daggers on the doors, and enough accessories to look detailed but stopping just short of having so many as to be overwhelming. Really nothing to criticise.

What's the idea behind this - a tavern in a cave? And is the cup on the floor with the blue flame meant to represent spilt water?

@Sir Kohran Yeah, an underground tavern inspired by dwarven ones in games. Spilt water it is. :)

I like the brick-built doors, too, and am impressed by your use of color differentiating the natural (dark grey) stone from the worked (light gray) stone brick.

As well as the use of the ring as door handles. That's pretty awesome and I personally haven't seen it done before. Stellar!

The lighting really helps the presentation, making it look clean and crisp. Well done.
