Big thanks to Troy an Dave, and all the other admins for getting Classic-Castle back up! :D Like Purple Wolf said, we appreciate all the work you have put into this site! :D

Also, besides what Luke the Swift mentioned (a minor glitch), I don't see anything wrong! :) Great to have the good all classic-castle back!

It is glad to see everything running again. It was maddening having to check back every hour, looking for a glimmer of hope.

Hi,

I have noticed that ever since we came back online the "View New Posts" button is not working.

Yesterday and today I logged on after having been off the board the previous night and got a blank list when I chose "View New Posts". I then went back to the main forum screen and saw several messages identified as having been posted in the intervening time.

^ Great, maybe it's just me. I did not log in at all between my last message and this one and yet I again got a blank list.
Anyone got any suggestions? Delete the CC cookie maybe?

Hm. I can't replicate this either. Just to confirm, you're going to this link:

http://classic-castle.com/forum/search. ... d=newposts

And it's giving you an empty list? If I get a chance I'll look a little further-- I wouldn't have thought this would be account-based, but sounds like it might be...

Yes, I am clicking the second of the links:
View unanswered posts • View new posts • View active topics • Mark forums read
which resolves as: search.php?search_id=newposts

I logged off yesterday after deleting the cookie again. Logged in this afternoon and it still returns a page with no links.

Clearly I am cursed. 8)

Not to keep harping, but what is interesting is I am having no such issues on Forbidden Cove which is, as I understand it, using the same software and server. :spin:

It is the same server. But it is a much younger website which the forum has not had to go thru the generations of this software. With all the changes each version makes, sometimes the upgrades cause issues. I cant' speak specific to the issue you are having. I don't know code, but I can tell you there is a difference. Think of it like this. You started with Windows 3.1 then skipped upgrades until Vista existed, that worked for upgrading, but it wasn't a 100% fit. So then you upgrade to Windows 8 and completely skip Windows 7, but now the upgrade isn't as smooth because you've skipped some upgrades that changed the codes. That's what is going on here. Forbidden Cove started at a much newer version of the forum software, so it isn't having the same code issues. Hope that helped explain it.
