Tolkien Professor video podcast on Hobbit LEGO sets

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

Corey Olsen is a professor of medieval lit and a Tolkien expert, known as the Tolkien Professor on his long-running podcast. He and his two fellow podcasters, Dave and Trish, examine the recent Hobbit LEGO sets on the most recent podcast. You can find the audio version on iTunes (just search "Tolkien Professor"), or see the video on YouTube or at their own podcast page.

I've only listened to the first bit, but one cool detail is that the runes on stickers in the Lonely Mountain set actually spell out "Erebor" and "Thror" (kind of - he notes a couple of mistakes they made in the Anglo-Saxon). Reminds me of examples we've discussed in the past where they included "LEGO" translated into runes, I think in one of the Viking sets.
