Caradhras

The Fellowship attempts to pass through the Redhorn Gate, but ultimately the path proves too difficult.

Here's another LOTR scene. I attempted the snow effect in GIMP with the help of these tutorials:

Awesome scene. I really like the depth of the snow and the various rock-scaping.

You've done very well developing your own style of rocks. Did it fall apart a lot? :D

The rockface is obviously the technical creme-de-la-creme of the piece, and I think the ice along the edge of the cliff is an excellent touch as well. But my personal favourite detail, from a Tolkien-referencing standpoint, is Legolas walking along the top of the snow while the rest of the Fellowship trudges through the snowbanks. Well done.

Very nice job capturing the feel of the scene. I had to zoom in close to see how you put the figures "under" the snow. Looks like you used the minifigs and just build white bricks around them as close as possible?

Thanks everyone! Yes, there was some collapsing during the building process :) and yes, I basically tried to build small alcoves for the figures to stand in. Several arms were actually taken off on the side facing away from the camera so that they would fit.
