Instructions PLUS!

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

I was just reading through a set description on LEGO.com and it included the following:

"Instructions PLUS!
This collectible toy playset comes with illustrated building instructions. Kids can also use Instructions PLUS, available on the free LEGO Life app, which lets them zoom into, rotate and visualize the model while building the real thing. Cool!"

Looking around LEGO.com there's more here:
https://www.lego.com/en-MY/service/help-topi ... tions/plus

I don't actually buy a lot of LEGO sets these days. For myself I mainly raid the pick-a-brick wall or Bricklink, for my kids we'll get things at Christmas and their birthdays. I've never see this "Instructions PLUS!" thing before. Is it totally new? Has it been around a while and I've just not noticed it? Is it only select sets? At that link I give they say you need to scan a QR code that comes in the set (I guess it's in the instruction booklet) to access these 3-d virtual instructions. If anyone has bought a set recently, could you post a good photo of the QR code? I'd be curious just to try out the app and see how it works.

Apparently you don't actually need the QR code. If you sign into the app with your Lego id, then click the magnifying glass you can search for sets. It looks like all the Monkie Kid ones have the instructions plus feature although my device is too old to actually load it :(

Hmm, I tried downloading the app, but when I found an Instructions Plus! for one of the Monkey Kid sets, it said I needed to update my app to access it - the app that I just now downloaded from the iphone app store. And I checked, my phone software is up to date (iphone 7+ running IOS 13.5), so it's not that.
