Re: CCC 19 - The Question Thread

AKB,

Traditionally we've said that a MOC couldn't have been publicly displayed before the announcement date - either online or at some AFOL event - but that you could have been working on it before. But Blue is running the show so ask her for the final word.

BTW, those MOCs that people were working on beforehand haven't always done so well, unless they were just in a Miscellaneous category, because they usually don't fit well into the categories. Like sometimes you'll have a category like "farming" and someone will submit this huge detailed house that they've obviously worked on for a long time, and there will be a little garden on the side. While the house is really cool, it doesn't do well with the category.

Re: CCC 19 - The Question Thread

I didn't respond within my 24 hour time frame that I have in place for myself because I was on the fence about this question.

My final decision came back to "bring back the fun." And the fun of the CCC is the building. I've participated in the CCC multiple times before I became an admin. I even won a category twice. I know the frustrations. But when I thought about why I had built for it...it was because it was a fun challenge. One I didn't prep for in advance.

So my answer is the old rule about moc's having to be built for the CCC and not shown prior to the announcement is still in place.

Welcome to Classic Castle! Please feel free to asks questions. Enjoy yourself.

There will be an entry page to fill out. It just isn't coded yet. As soon as I can get the entry pages coded and open, they will be. I'm trying my best. I know it is a priority.

Hi everyone
Question about the 48x48 rule on the civilian building : does it *need* to be 48 max or could it it larger but keeping the total surface area below 2304 studs?
Thanks

Yes it needs to be within the 48x48 footprint.

It's too difficult on the judges to try to count studs to make sure you're within the 48x48 (2,304) "stud count". Thanks for understanding. :)

On category 6 can the crew be bigger than just five or is it a strict crew of 5?

Just a little FYI because I"m trying to be as transparent as I can be. I have to approve all entries manually before they show up on the contest entry pages. I do this about once a day. So please do not get upset or worried if it isn't showing up. It will.

But if it doesn't, please contact me.

Who's doing the judging? I just noticed Jtooker entered his 'crew'. If he's judging, couldn't he just say his was the best? Sorry if I'm being offensive.
