Fear as a weapon:
In the ancient world there was a mercenary band lead by Szumborski the cruel, that made enemies flee in terror in the long forgotten wars.
Those unfortunate brave or foolish who opposed them condemned to a hellish fate.

I really like these "dark fantasy" figs. Nice combos all-around, and the little micro-statues in the background add an extra creepy factor!

Re: CCC XIX - The Souls Defiler
Hey Arfelan,
Standard disclaimer - Now that judging is done I can comment on individual contest entries. These are my thoughts only and do not reflect those of other judges. I won't give my exact scores for entries, how they ranked in my estimation, or how other judges scored them (actually, I don't know how the other judges scored them as Blue collected and added up the scores).
Just a note on how I look at "fig" entries. Some entries actually involve customizing (e.g. painting, decals, etc) or building (putting together LEGO elements like bricks), while others are more about assembling figs and their accessories. I'm always going to look a little more favorably on those first groups as requiring more out-of-the-box work, but as "assembling figs and accessories" entries go, this one is top notch. (I guess there is a tiny bit of "build" in that you clipped an axe head onto a spear, also feathers onto the snake-tail). Your crew here looks really menacing and I like the contrasting colors a lot - they especially make the guy in the middle with the red cape pop out - also the snake-lady in green. The posing is pretty good - though the wolfman and the red-cape guy are kind of standing still like they are posing for a photo. I like the yellow background a lot - it really heps the presentation (even if the one guy's yellow plume gets a little lost).
