My first entry to the CCC this year. Amicia and her sick brother go to the fair.

Amicia and her little brother love each other very much; and even though they’re poor peasants, occasionally they get a chance to go to the village fair together. There they always have a very nice time watching and listening as the music is played, and asking questions, and wandering about looking at the wares brought from near and far, with laughter and smiles: but smiles that belie their empty stomachs; and for Amicia, perhaps an aching heart.

In her hair Amicia is wearing an Aquilegia, named after the Latin word for eagle, in reference to the shape of its talon-like petals. Ancolia is a symbol of sadness and troubled souls—even of madness. Amicia wears it because her little brother put it in her hair.
Building at this scale is really hard. Here is a look at some of the structure, which is as unartistic as possible. I like the fact that you can show so much more of reality because of the scale, but I don’t like the fact that it takes soooo much more time.
I don’t think I’ll do this often, but it was exciting to do such a difficult MOC for the 20th anniversary of this inspiring castle contest! I hope you like it, although it's not as good as it was supposed to be.
