Am I understanding the rules correctly that, if the intended creation (even if it fits the theme) was shown anywhere online or offline before the contest start date - it cant participate?
And what about the work-in-progress shots?

That is correct. The wording from last year's rules:

All submissions must be new and not shared online or at public events prior to November 1st, 2022(it'll be 2023 this year)

And what about the work-in-progress shots?

If work-in-progress shots were shared on the internet, you may not submit that creation.

This will be my first year participating in this event, and I’m really looking forward to it!

I went on a bit of a spending spree during the double Insider points promotion this past week, so I now have several sets to use as inspiration and parts once the contest begins.

Ah yes you know the snow will be falling soon when the CCC get's announced.

Maybe this year I may partake in it. Maybe.

Ok, can't wait to see some awesome categories for this year, I wonder how much overlap with Brickscalibur we have this time.

Anyway, I will be participating for sure.

In attempt to be 100% transparent, we don't think about any other contest when planning, which we do start way earlier than anyone would expect.

We are respectful of other contests and communities. We have no ill will for anyone. We believe all the castle that gets built is awesome and welcome.

If we overlap, it is completely by accident.

Haha, yeah I know, it was just a joke and any overlap would be a coincidence (still it can make it somewhat easier to enter multiple categories if they do overlap).

I appreciate the work needed to come up with new contest ideas each time, so thanks for that, can't be easy every time.
