SNOT window design by Erik Amzallag
Hi all,
This building technique by Erik Amzallag recently showed up on Brickshelf:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=98760
Check out his website - BrikErik or his Brickshelf gallery to see some really awesome castles. Erik is a member of FreeLUG, but he has posted a few times on Lugnet. Here is his announcement from Lugnet.

That window is a thing of beauty. Now I have something to do with all the trans- tiles that I have. And I like the way he's used a wrench to hold the flag by the door. Very imaginative.

That looks great, a good change from having plain windows in MOCs. If only I could figure out how to build these, I would love to make one.

Thanks for all the comments !
It's my first post here, after I read the Bruce's post on Lugnet about the window. I came sometimes on this forum to read some topics, but never post.

HI! and thanks for posting. A builder like you should show off a little. I Expect to see more from you.
This is a very nice window.
(edit: I mean show off here. because I always look here for my lego castle needs. )
I've spend hours on trying to make a window like that, and I couldn't come up with anything that would fit . This is great... I should have thought of this, it's funny, cos the SNIRing he does really resembles my new technique of getting my stave church' roof right
Now, i really need to find out a way to make such a window with 1x2 panels, since i got tons of em in different transparent colors, and I'd really like to use those in windows... :|

Hi Erik,
I'm glad you came over to join the conversation here. In addition to the window, the way you attached the flag is great as well. I'll have to try that one soon. Finally, I really enjoy the way you photographed the scene, lit from "inside". Even without a caption I can easily imagine the evening--loud music coming from inside the inn, with this drunken peasant coming staggering out, perhaps falling flat on his face in a few steps.
I hope we'll see more from you. I especially like your Tonquedec castle.
