Knight's Kingdom: Nominated for Ultimate Toy Awards

Post by architect »

Check out the Toy's R Us "Ultimate Toy Awards" where you can vote for the best toys of 2004. LEGO Knight's Kingdom has been nominated in the Construction and Building category.

http://www4.toysrus.com/toy_awards/toyaward.html

Note however that Mega... has two nominees in this category. I think I will place a vote for LEGO...

There is one vote per person. Winners will be announced on December 4th between 1-2pm [Eastern Time I assume] on NBC.

What does this prove?

If MegaBloks wins, it makes LEGO appear to be sinking further.

If LEGO wins, it tells TLC that Knight's Kingdom 2 is their best product line, and that they should make more things like that.

I think it's very disappointing that none of TLC's other products were even nominated, and that MegaBloks got 2 nominations.

*sigh*

I voted for "LEGO Knights" just out of loyalty to the company. (they couldn't even get the name right on the poll...)

I don't think that LEGO deserves to win. While I still love those ABS bricks, I'm quite ticked off at TLC for several bad choices over the past YEARS, and I don't think that KK2 is exactly award-winning.

By the same token, I can't bring myself to want to see anyone, especially Megabloks, to win. True, MBs probably deserves it more, but they ARE Lego's main competitor, at least on this continent.

Hmm... burned if you do, burned if you don't.

Hello!

Shall I vote for Scylla? Or shall I vote for Charybdis?

Pest or Cholera?

Knights' Kingdom Two or Mega Bloks?

Bye

I was tempted to vote for them. It would solve the problem wonderfully, as long as enough people voted for Knex that neither LEGO or MegaBloks wins. I just didn't feel confident that that would happen. Maybe if all "AFOLs" banded together and voted Knex, it would send a good message to TLC.

I voted Lego.
I don't like KKII, but we must be loyal to the brick.

You know you're a good person when you see megablocks and have to do things you would rather not.

I voted for Lego. The mega stuff is just not that good and doesn't deserve a vote. Also, this knex ball tower is inferior to the earlier Big Ball Tower. The earlier tower didn't have the big molded plastic tubes, that make this ball tower a dumb-downed version. Sounds like a familiar story. Even though I don't like KK2 that much, its is still a better toy and deserves the vote for this year.

I voted for LEGO, even though the stuff they are making sucks, it's still better than what's out there. I just hope they don't go "Hey, kids love this stuff, let's make more!".

I am torn. I want to vote for LEGO just out conviction, but I feel as though I would only be supporting their new lines, thus giving them a big head about them. At the same time, I don't want to see anyone else get the award for fear of what that may mean for the castle line coming back. I doubt that the thought, "This KK2 stuff didn't win, kids must want us to go back to the old way of building. Let's revive the Forestmen and Black Knights," will ever cross their minds. We may never see a good castle line ever again if that occurs.

I must ponder this.....
