NWBrickCon Castle Display

Post by Thomas »

Hi all,

As some of you might have noticed Anthony posted my plea for help on the main page. I'm in charge of the Castle area at NWBrickCon this year and I'd like to make it one of the largest and most detailed ever. If at all possible I'd like to have a large "flowing" terrain with as much connected as possible.

All Medieval structures are welcome, combined in a large community display or displayed on its own in the Castle area.

I have plots available on my current brickscaped modules(1). I'd like to fill up those plus the additional modules I'm building. If your buildings are on baseplates or plates either is fine. If you have buildings currently built or planning on please let me know the size/s so I can plan accordingly. If you have special requests on where you'd like your structure or who's building you'd like to be placed by get you requests in early and I'll see what I can do.

Hope to see you at NWBrickCon!

NWBrickCon Castle Display

NWBrickCon's Castle Display wasn't the greatest because it ended up being only me. Justin Major brought his awesome microscale Castle and Village but that was in the Microscale area.

I built new for the event six 3C buildings, 9 wall/corner sections (which I didn't put out), and my Hill Giant. The rest of the layout was similar to previous times with the execption of more detail in some areas. I'd provide a link but Brickshelf isn't being too friendly right now. It looks like a whole bunch of folders got deleted. I'll post a link when the pics are up.

As you said, Brickshelf is being strange and deleting folders and stuff, so I can't see them now, though I look forward to it.

That's really too bad. Not to be rude, but I almost came, and definitely would have had at least one large castle MOC there. However, the rule about being under 18 and having to have an adult at all times made me decide to save myself the trouble and not go. (I'm 16)

It's too bad that happened, but I believe by limiting ages like that they create those problems themselves.

Well the folders look like there back.

Hill Giant

Hill Giant fell when the table got bumped. I rebuilt him right after that so he could join in the Battle

Whole Layout

It would have been great to see your stuff there.

Hey,

Your layout looks great. I especially like the way you did the toes on the giant.

Thank you Bruce. I hope to have a lot of new features on the layout added soon. I also plan on changing some of the exsisting features. One thing for sure I'd like to change is the width of the road, it's too wide.

I started with the toes for the giant. I happen to be working on something else when I lined those pieces next to each other. At first it was just 3 of them then I offset them slightly and noticed that they looked like toes. So basically the giant evolved from the toes. :D
