Yup that thing is weird! My bro picked one of those up at the LEGO store. Its funny that despite the small number of sets, Wolfpack is still quite popular today.

With the keychain figs, I've had every arm and leg fall off, lost and broken hands, but that darn metal connection stays in the hat/head no matter what. I've never had the head seperate from the torso, or the chain come lose from the head, but then, I've never tried to actually yank the thing loose. The cost of them is such that it isn't worth my while to do so.

If there was a practical way to remove them it would be great. I could get an army of those new wolf/cowpack crossbreeds. Even if the hat was destroyed. I don't care. The torso's are nice!

i've only had one keychain (A cowboy that Lego sent me for free for filling out a survey) and it took quite a bit of abuse before falling apart.
The metal loop DOES come out. It is SCREWED in and is quite long, going down well into the torso. Of course, who knows if they make them the same anymore....or I could ahve just had a defective one.
If you keep twisting and turning that pin, it will eventually come out. I managed to do this for a Snowtrooper keychain and at the price of a Snowtrooper, that was definitely worth it. If you use the keyring to help you turn the pin, it works its way out easier. I have also found that once the pin starts to come out, you can just give it a tug. Good luck,
