Medieval Starbucks by James Stacey

James recently let me see his latest creation, a Medieval Starbucks.

This timber frame building with green plaster is has several very nice features including a wonderful bay window and a Starbucks flag. James will post updates including interior photographs in next few days. Questions, comments, and feedback are welcome.

This is another nice looking tudor house. But look at that roof! Very, very well done. I enjoyed looking at this MOC.

Where is the interior though? If there is one thing that bugs me about awesome looking Tudor houses it is the lack of an interior.

But overall this is an awesome house

thats just awesome. This MOC is just fantastic. I can't wait to see some interior shots though.
lets hope it is just a lego inspired fantasy though and they really don't have a time machine. Otherwise medieval maps might read "here be yet another starbucks"

Ha ha ha.... nice!

Two things I really liked about this idea...

1. The cool idea and obvious very good job in building (very cool colors, sign)

2. The vintage Lego Castle background hills and sun... made me laugh.

Great job... I really like it.. even if Starbucks has almost totally destroyed all the good coffee shops at my college town.

Unlike the local American college student or two, who continually decry the general absence of Starbucks in rural Alberta, I am not a huge fan of the chain. I'm not really a fan of big business to begin with, but if I have to support one coffee chain, I'll go all Albertan, and vote Tim Hortons.

Personally, I don't see this as a particularly unique MOC, although it is certainly a good-looking one. The most unique thing about it is its hilarious premise.

I also liked the vintage LEGO background. Pity it died with the Fright Knights' arrival.

Starbucks is where I go for a good frappicino. But I tend to like this place up from my house that have been there for ever. They're right next to the lake, and sell ice cream.

If ya'll want coffee, go anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. There is literally a coffee stand on every corner. I'm not kidding with that one.

As for this MOC? I never tire of the Tudor-style. Seeing as I'm still trying to create that perfect one, I always like to see what else is going on.

But here's my question--is there a Drive-Thru pick up window? Drip for the horses pulling the Caddy's and the Beamers? Do they have a great compilation cd? And what about those fantastic Starbucks special edition goblets? Do they carry a copy of Cranium: Medieval Edition?

The sign is custom and I don't know where he got the green cup. As far as I know, it doesn't come with any sets. PaB, maybe? Odd colored things show up in them sometimes.

Yay! Now my men can go for a good mocha instead of dwarvisah ale! Now about those green cups ... i've never seen them before, but if there's a custom guy out there making them, I'll buy enough to make a banquet ! And just a tip: I use lego mugs in lego coffee stores they fit the "steaming coffee in a mug" mood

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I know the 1/2 timbered house is something thats been done a lot before and I certainly have quite a little town growing on the shelf. I find it fun to build as a variation on a theme. It's suprising what can be done differently on a standard premise. The whole reason behind this building was playing with the hinges for the bay window. As for the goblet, which is what more people seem to be interested in ..
I have goblets in a few colours I think aren't commercially avaliable. http://www.minifig.co.uk/picture.asp?id=4&pID=448 Has a brown goblet too, I also have tan somewhere. Although certain parts are not comercially avaliable, it dosen't stop them being avaliable to Legoland parks for use by the master builders. I was fortunate enough to get (albeit very limited) access to a few examples of the more interesting pieces in interesting colours.
