MOCs by Michael Munshaw (KingKastle)

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

He doesn't seem to have ever posted either here or on Lugnet, but Michael Munshaw (aka King Kastle) has recently posted several great castle MOCs on Brickshelf (and MOCpages):

Some very nice MOCs. I like the temple best. It looks like a real place somehow. Very natural or something. Not sure what, but I do like it best.

I saw these on Brickshelf earlier and was amazed by the simplicity yet great detail put into these. I guess you could call it Simple Detail.

My favorite would have to be the Temple and the Undead Beast.

The undead beast is just cool. It gives you a sense of Undead yet still ferocious as they come. The rider is also pretty cool.

I liked the temple because it has a sense of solitude and quite. I think it looks liek a Japenese garden or something along those lines.

I must say that all of these are very nice pieces of creations and deserve a up. :D

I love them all really. The demon rider was amazing. Honestly if I had the parts I'd mass created both the demon rider and golem. Those are some amazing creatures to have in a world.

The town was great. The large taverns and dining hall and the gambling was great.

The temple was great too. heck I love em all. Very nice job.

I particularly love the golem, and will have to try to make one similar to this. Its hard not to get a large creature to look like a mech, and I think he pulled it off admirably here.

I also love the temple - as its been pointed out there is a definite sense of serenity here.

overall great mocs. I'd like to see this guy post here regularly about this stuff. whenever I see a good builder I like to pick their brains...

I really like seeing minifigs riding brick-made beasts. I wanna try and figure out how to make my own monster/dragon thing so i can have someone ride it.

These are really cool!

Hey,
Thanks for all the positive reviews. If you think those are good MOC's you should really go back and check out the Griffon before and after pics (start with the before). I will be adding more creations in the next couple of weeks and I guarantee that you will be impressed.
Spoiler- 64 x 96 x ~50 studs (look in the background of my town centre pics) Thanks Alot feedback is always appreciated. KingKastle ( Michael Munshaw )

I am amazed at how good the Demon Rider looks. I would never have thought of using the bricks the way you have for that. I really like the ribs and the feet of it. Also I too like the ancient temple. I like things that look lost and forgot!

Man of Iron
KingKastle, in one of your Demon Rider pictures you had a spooky woods background, what tool did you use to do that?
I'm not sure if you are asking about where the pic is from or the program used to put the demon rider into it. The pic was just floating around on my harddrive somewhere and it looked cool so I thought why not. As for the program, I used ms paint and a bunch of patience.

I was considering making instructions for the demon rider but given my abilities this may be a ways off. Maybe one day but not right now.

If I can ever scrounge together enough gray bricks I have a castle in the works to compliment the temple. So far I only have the entrance/drawbridge worked out so this is most likely a far ways off as well. If you want I can post pics of it (not much to look at though).

Any way thanks again, hope to be posting pics of my Evil castle shortly (bricklink order where are you?)
