Gryphon by Kevin Heckel
Hi all,
I'm sure you know by now I'm a sucker for brick-built-beasts. Check out this gryphon by Kevin Heckel.
It's another of the great MOCs that have been submitted to the Colossal Castle Contest II. Keep 'em coming!

One of the best brick-built beasties I have ever seen. Kevin managed to restrict the size, avoided excess bulk, sculpted elegant but solid limbs, all the while maintaining pleasing overall proportions. Just a great design.

I love this thing. It's not often that I see something that I really love, but this did the trick.
The tail does look as if it's made from a minifig whip. If the position of the tail doesn't give it away, take a look at the end: it has the little round thing for a stud.
I may just have a use for all of those wedge shaped pieces that I got with my Prehistoric Creatures building set. Now if only I could figure out how exactly he did those wings.

Very cool beast! I like it a lot. He did a great job in making it small. Very good, I will have to copy that.
