catalog 2005 on lowlug.nl
Hi
I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but over on www.eurobricks.com they posted a scan of the new 2005 catalog http://www.lowlug.nl/index.php?page=25
They have some more pics of the new kk2 sets and a little page with lego vikings, but no sets.
At least it means vikings are definatly real!
You can see a helmet, a shield and an axe and they look really cool!!! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/myfol ... viking.jpg

Very cool stuff. The new KK sets, the additional confirmation of the Vikings, as well as lots of things we haven't seen yet. The Ferrari semi is awesome! And my wife will be very excited as there is a whole lot of Duplo going on. (Yes, she collects Duplo) .

PS. This probably will get moved to General, I think it actually belongs there.
According to Babelfish, it means Autumn. So I would assume that means the Vikings are coming out in the Fall of 2005.kajo163 wrote:Any dutch people who can tell me what "najaar" means??

And the big Vladek mask thing on the fortress is red, not chrome like earlier pics.

I must say, I have mixed feelings about the 2005 line (besides the bley of course). 7344 (The city dump-truck) has got to be one of the worst sets I've ever seen! Talk about juniorization; that dumper looks like its a single piece  ! Still, many of the fire and construction sets look decent. The crane looks great, as does the Ferrari truck. 8420 (Street Bike) looks fantastic. One of the coolest Technic sets I've ever seen. The Viking line should make the second half of 2005 interesting.
KK2 is still awful, but I might pick up a few of the smaller sets. Other than that, LEGO still needs to improve its lineup. Last year's KK2 sets, and Alpha Team sets are still awful, and this year's KK2 sets really don't do much to improve the line. Here's hoping that this is the last year of KK2 !!
Overall a Mixed bag.

Hmmm. I must say that I am quite excited!
Relating to the KKII:
The Good:
*Same Euro Armor, so now I don't have to spend money on the new patterns
*Triangle sheilds for the knights
*The angular horse helm in many colors
*The crome shadow knights with flared helms
*Old KKII sets will still be available
The Bad:
*Vladek's tear drop sheild is gone
*Too many premolded pieces and Castle Wall Pieces
*Vladek's giant helm is red instead of chrome
*Still only white horses
and
The Ugly
*The King's new siege tower
*The shadow knight on that...scorpion
And I can't wait for the new vikings, I love the preview teaser, but they should have made that out of LEGO.

Where are the guys that said Vikings were fake? There goes your arguments
I'm really looking forward to buy most of Viking sets, and prolly the Ferrari one, it looks so cool!
And is the Helmet and Axe blade a new kind of chrome?

Actually, LEGO has always been for kids. That isn't the point! You need to appreciate, that when I was a kid, we actually had to build our sets.David85 wrote:Of course it';s one piece, it's made for little kids. How many kids didn't play with a dump truck like that when they were little?Blueandwhite wrote: 7344 (The city dump-truck) has got to be one of the worst sets I've ever seen! My point is that the dumper is about 16 studs wide, and 24 studs long !! Perhaps you don't agree with me, but isn't LEGO about building? This dumper is the most juniorized element I've ever seen!
And while were at it, this set is listed for ages 5+, whereas the other construction sets (including that awsome Crane) are listed for ages 4+. None of the other City sets are as juniorized as that one.
I just don't understand how you can defend a set that includes a single piece that is larger than most other sets!
Later.
This is because they are probably in the same pageslone ranger wrote:LEGO SPORTS - VIKINGS.
Look what subject Vikings are in, did they mess something up?
LR
In the left page you have that sports page, the right page is the vikings one, and since they only use that label on the right page (as you can see on the other pictures), they had to put both names on the same label =)
