A great start. I like the customized minifigs that look like the characters they are supposed to represent. I hear there are ways to remove unsightly HP printing on torso's and panels....brasso was mentioned....

Sweet Work Matt!

If you got them put some 1x1 light grey and dark grey tiles on the doors to make those carvings on the doors like they had in the movies.

Keep it up,

I have thought about that, or covering the whole thing in plates and putting a sticker with all the detail "LEGOlized" :)

I think both of those ideas would look pretty darn cool. The gate was one of my favorite things in the movie. I'd love to see the same detail on a lego set :)

Great work, Matthew! I really like it! Are you going to do the Siege of Minas Tirith in Lego?

Looks great so far. I always love large constructions.

One thing I would change though.... The towers that combine plain gray circular walls with stone printed walls don't seem to match... I'd go with all plain or all printed.

You Know, I think they should all be plain or printed too! The only reason they are like that is... those are the only ones I have.

Nice work!

I do have a particular dislike of the Pippin/Ron Weasely face, but that's just me (looks stoned or something :p). The rest of the Pippin fig is great!

Yes,

Big doors would be great, but TLC will never make them. That would be one heck of a system model to have doors like that. Unless of course they end up doing a modular UCS castle line. How sweet would that be...

Back on topic, I like how you incorporated the tan pillars into the gate like that. I have a bunch of the pillars in tan and black and have been scratching my head trying to figure out what I will build with them. I like the market too, personally I will be hiding the printing on my HP panels. Brasso is a bit of work when you have a lot of panels to clean. The stickers look great as well.

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.
