25% off an order at Troy's is pretty good too, but do what you will.
-Stickers and painting? While a purist may use his wits to combine pieces to make them look good, a customizer can easily win by painting them and put stickers, etc.
They're allowed, though I can tell you for this contest they might score lower. Stickers will pprobably have less weight against them than painting and modification - not everything is about chopping up the brick.
-If anything wants to be unique, like making a Conquistador theme, is that allowed, since its practically a reinassance theme? What more counts and does not count as a Castle Theme? Narnia? HP?
The official Classic-Castle.com policy on acceptable themes for the Castle MOC area, and thus allowed for this contest, states that it must be a medieval style theme. The policy goes on to describe said style as any time period in an area of the world that predates or occoured just at the introduction of firearms. Conquistador theme - no. Pirate theme - as long as its medieval pirates. Narnia - it's been too long since I've read it; no guns, no tech, maybe. I'll talk it over with the other admins. HP - set in the future, but since it typically involves magic-only, I'll talk it over with the other admins.
-Colors, how far can it go until the sides are unrecognizable?
Your call. Remember the contest does not require you to create both sides to one full chess board (though since you can enter twice you are certainly welcome to). There needs to be some level of uniformity, so if you have soldiers and you can't tell them apart because of armor or weapons, try adding shields or flags or plumes, or changing arm, waist or leg color.
