custom minifig scale dragon!!!

Post by boses »

Today I completed a large monster I was working on to go with my story...
it started out as a behemoth but now it is a dragon...
the dragon has posable wings, head, body, claws and mouth...
I try to build with a certain aspect of build-a-bility, I try and make models that TLC could mass produce, without sacrificing detail or realism, please tell me what you think of this design....

the deeplinks are here.....

Great to meet ya, Nuuke!

Clever use of the arches for the horns. Those space "flaps" are good ears, too (I assume they're ears. And if not, they still look cool.). Great work! It takes a special skill to build dragons.

Hey Boses,

Great dragon. I like the segmented body for bend-ability a lot. How do you hinge those body segments together?

dragon constructon

I built the"spine" of the dragon using "clicky" or "ratchet" bricks,

the kind where normally one is dark grey "the male brick" and the "female"

brick is light grey, I acquired most of these pieces from the episode 1 droid

fighter... for the dragon I used the same type of bricks only with connectors

on each side...the tail is made from "sideways" hinge bricks... if you have

any more questions,please ask...

That Dragon is awe-inspiring, as all dragon's should be.

Looks great! I love all the joints and great uses for parts, such as the space flaps (already mentioned), the back part of the dinosaurs and the few Bionicle pieces. Keep it up!

... Oooo... We got a dragon-maker-in-making! And good dragons too! Not like my garbage of a dragon...

Any woo... I have to admit, I really what that dragon. Except the hind leg detail seems a bit awkward.
Thanks for showing another way to make a dragon.

very good job with the dragon! I always have trouble making beasts look fluid. You have certainly captured that aspect with this creation.. :D
