Review of Vladek's Dark Fortress (KKII 8877)

Post by garsh »

This review shows off several nice features in the new castle and there are fantastic photos, as is common for Millionaire Playboy.

There's a catapult again, but at least this one is powered by an elastic band, that's a nice touch.

The new metallic armor looks great to me, and it doesn't look as bad as it could blended with the rest of the Knight's Kingdom series. Even better, it might make for nice mix-and-matches for those of you buying Vikings too. That way you can to assemble your own decent armies of soldiers who don't look better fit for piloting a giant robot.

Nice review and pics...I may just have to pick this set up for myself.

I like the last picture with the comparison between the Castle of Morcia and Vladek's Dark Fortress. It's a lot bigger than I imagined! Other things I noticed were the angular slope pieces (don't know the real name, but they're like corners) in brown and the wooden basket piece.

Wow...for a KK2 set, I'd say it looks pretty Megablocks good! I love the actual castle, anyway. Throw out the fruity power rangers and shadow dudes and bring in some real Lego knights...that's what I say! This will be the first castle set currently sold in stores that I will buy, and likely the first and only KK2 set that I will buy. It seems to have a similar set up to the 6093-Flying Ninja Fortress, which I am also after.

Makes me wonder why Vladek would want that puny and ugly Morcia castle, when his Dark Fortress is way better looking and bigger.

A significant and promising step in the right direction. This is the first Lego Castle I've been excited about in a long time.

Now I want it even more! :D In fact when I get it, I'll post a story in the Stories section. Look for it around the begining of August. As for the reviews, they were both very good. Bloody Jay's had more pics though. I will need some more detailing on the inside though.
