Lord_Of_The_LEGO wrote:Then he was off through the crowd, his hat bobbing. Vanderdious made his way through the crowd, and after supping a rich wine, he turned out to seek out another person to converse with. The Black Falcon’s eyes soon rested upon a Royal Knight man, who was tucked away in a corner, not speaking to anyone. Vanderdious immediately made a beeline for him.

“A most grand celebration, is this not, your Gov’ner’ship?” greeted Vanderdious.

The man started.

“Yes,” he said, a little taken aback, “Yes indeed…”

The man said nothing further, and Vanderdious tried again.

“M’name’s Vanderdious Shiringtonburgville, Chief Dramatist of Her Majesty, Queen Helen of the Black Falcons.”

“Oh…” said the man, “My name’s Charles Augustine…”
“Hmm… that name sounds somewhat familiar,” Vanderdious quarrying “If by chance, have we met before?”

“I do not believe so.” honestly replied Charles

“Are you sure? I’m usually quite good with names” but just then it hit Vanderdious who this Charles really was. “Wait a moment!” he exclaimed “you’re not the Charles Augustine, are you?

Taken by surprise from this recognition, Charles countered: “you’ve heard of me?

“Well sure... I admit your story isn’t widely known but your name has reached my ears once or twice.” Vanderdious then extended his hand in a sign of friendship which Charles then took with his own. “You have my gratitude friend; your aid to my people during the times of the plague epidemic was most welcome. Not many men would so soon do such a thing after what you suffered and with us as one to blame.”

Charles eyes glazed over when being reminded of his loss. “It would have been selfish not to help when I could.” He said softly.

But before anything more could be said, a loud voice came resounding throughout the ballroom.

"A healer!" they heard. "We need a healer!"
Formendacil wrote:Charles Augustine broke off his conversation with Vanderdious and rushed over, soon joined by two healers of the Emperor's staff.

Location: the Shadow Knight’s hidden stronghold

“Milord” said the attended as he bowed.

“What is it?” The Vindicator Replied, weary from his unceasing work.

“Arthus of the Scorpio has return from his mission. He wishes to speak with you.”

The Vindicator stopped everything at hearing that name. “Send him in then.”

A few moments later Arthus stormed in to The Vindicator's champers while clutching the red staff tightly in hand.

“Arthus, I see that you have come from your quest victorious, but where is Theron, for we have much to discuses.”

"He’s gone.” coldly came the words of the Shadow Knight “He passed in to Shadow when we were forced to leave him in that forsaken place of Hellecell.”

“This is most unfortunate.” The Vindicator said in his typical icy tone. “You must tell me how this transpired.”

With that Arthus went in to detail about what had happened on Solitaire and in Hellecell. How they had lost so many troops and what had happened to the Mortem, the Courtest and the Mauler. How Theron valiantly held off Shaidar and his forces so that the rest of his Shadow Knights could escape with the ruby staff. How after they had made it back to the surface and away from Shaidar field of power, spent the next few days repairing the Courtest the best they could where they then set sail while using the staff to ward off any unfriendly beast or monster once loyal to Shaidar.

“A most impressive story.” remarked the Vindicator” You and all those who survived along with those who didn’t ” he mustered under his breath “will be honored for this service. Yet, if I have learned one thing about the one we have come to know as Theron, it is that he wouldn’t so quickly sacrifice himself in such a manner, thus I do not believe he is dead”

It then donned on Arthus an option of escaped that he had only realized just then: “He didn’t, he wouldn’t.” he said when coming to grips with the idea. “You don’t suppose he would have used the Shadow Dust on himself?”

“I wouldn’t so hastily put it past him. The Shadow Dust I donated is something that can be used on more then just ones enemies.” when the Vindicator had said this he then turning to look at a statue which depicted a Shadow Knight of times now gone: “He’s still alive, I can feel it.”

The three Eastern Knights' Kingdomers nodded glumly, before taking a staircase down into the bright streets.

Viktor left at a street corner, murmuring "Good luck," as Jaythus and Santis dashed back through the ball room, completely oblivious to all the warmth and laughter around them. Their minds were flat with fear, and horror at the creature they had seen, but they still had the wit left to know that they had to obey Solesstorn to the letter. For some reason.

Jaythus came out of his room, clad in his full armour and weaponry, as was Santis.

"Look, lad, whatever happens from here on out, don't get too trusting ith this Solesstorn person," Santis advised. "We don't know anything about him. Megabloks, he might want us to help him with something bad."

"He seems good enough," Jaythus replied. "And...he saved us from that, um, thing, back there."

"Looks can be deceiving, Jaythus."

Jaythus had noticed that whenever Santis used his first name instead of "lad", he was being serious, and making a point of telling Jaythus not to argue back. Jaythus nodded sullenly. Looking around, they ran down several flights of stairs, avoiding various guests, until they met up with Viktor in the dining room. They headed for the stables.
"Just about." mutted Viktor as he pulled on a chest plate painted bright red, "Haven't worn something like this in a while..."

'Well hurry!" snapped Solesstorn, but said no more until the three harried Eastern Knights Kingdomers were ready.
Solesstorn patted his horses' mane. It, at least, seemed happy to see him. Solesstorn felt reassured. He needed it. On the top, he acted hard and strong-willed, to try and keep the others calm, but underneath, he had his own dark fears as well, that no amount of magic would keep back.

He turned back to the three Eastern Knights' Kingdomers, each on a horse, as he mounted his own mare. "Come," he said in a hushed voice, "We must ride swiftly and quietly."

The trio nodded grimly. After the previous events of the night, little would surprise them now.

And, out of the corner of his eye, Solesstorn spotted the dark figure again, standing in a doorway. He seemed to be larger this time around.

The Ball was winding down. The orchestra finished their last number, and began to put away their instruments. Emperor Constantius addressed the guests.

"My thanks to all of you for attending," he said, "I hope that all of you have found it to be as profitable and enjoyable as I have. May the peace of Dametreos that we celebrate remain for years to come.

"And now, for those of you who wish to join me, the Fireworks show will be begin over the great courtyard in half an hour. You are all invited to find a place in the gardens or on the ramparts to view them."

And the Emperor withdrew from the Grand Ballroom, his Cavalier escort at attention, and headed to the top of the tallest tower in the Yellow Castle, where he and his most honoured guests were to view the fireworks.

Soon they began. Bright, loud, and magnificent, they were shot off, firework after firework, for over an hour, each one bigger than the last. It was a fortune of fireworks that were being shot into the air, but it was not only the Emperor and his guests that enjoyed them, but half the city of Orion, gathered in the streets and on the tiled roofs of their homes, watching the bright explosions.

And, long after midnight, when the fireworks were done, the Emperor returned to his bedchamber to rest and sleep off an excellent day of celebrations.

Lord_Of_The_LEGO wrote:“Where, may I ask,” said the Chief Warden, “do you intend to take him?”

“Drullen Bell.” said Bjarn, looked at Sir Dractor, “His home.”
The Master Warden nodded solemnly and then left them. Bjarn turned to Hans, Adrian and Cate. He smiled, weary.

“You’ve been a wonderful help, all three of you.” he said, “But, go now. The fireworks are about to start, methinks. You don’t want to miss that.”

Cate appeared torn. She dearly longed to see the fireworks, but --

“What about Dractor?” said Hans.

“I’ll watch over him.” said Bjarn, “Besides, fireworks interest me little. Go on…”

After a moment of hesitation, the three teenagers nodded slowly and left the infirmary. Bjarn pulled a chair near to Sir Dractor’s bed and sat.

“Rest well, Aethelred…”

++++++++++++++++++

As Hans, Adrian and Cate reentered the Ballroom, they could see the Ball was winding down. Dractor’s mess had been quickly cleaned up, and Hans noted Radjar, Aaylah and Lhorn were all absent. Sir Dractor’s suddenly illness, plus the strange incident involving the collapsing of half the dancers, and the sudden exit of half the Eastern Knight’s Kingdomer guests after a quarrel led almost to an anti-climatic and uneasy feeling. However, the Emperor did his very best to revive the feeling of happiness.
Formendacil wrote:"My thanks to all of you for attending," he said, "I hope that all of you have found it to be as profitable and enjoyable as I have. May the peace of Dametreos that we celebrate remain for years to come.

And the Emperor withdrew from the Grand Ballroom, his Cavalier escort at attention, and headed to the top of the tallest tower in the Yellow Castle, where he and his most honored guests were to view the fireworks.
Obviously, Hans, Adrian and Cate were not along those highly honored guest, and so they made their way to a balcony, where they had a pretty good view of the night sky.
Formendacil wrote:Soon they began. Bright, loud, and magnificent, they were shot off, firework after firework, for over an hour, each one bigger than the last. “Wow.” Adrian murmured in awe, his face craned upwards.

Hans murmured in agreement. Flashes of reds and blues and gold filled the sky, exploding in a wondrous symphony of booms. The night was chilly, and Cate, exposed in her shimmering golden dress, shivered. Seemingly unconsciously, she pressed closer to Hans. In the dark, no one saw Hans’ blush.

Yes, he thought, perhaps tonight was worth it…

Then the image of Sir Dractor, lying pale and lipid on a bed, filled his head. Hans shook it away angrily. Sir Dractor would be fine. Tyco, the knight has survived being shot by a catapult for goodness sake! A little poisoned wine wouldn’t kill him.

No, thought Hans, Dractor will be fine.

And so Hans thought no more of it, and focused his full attention on enjoying the final climax of the Emperor’s Peace Ball, and on enjoying the close company of his friends.

Outside, the loud bangs of the fireworks had just begun, and Sir Dractor was dozing peacefully on his infirmary bed.

"If you want, I think you can move him to his quarters- provided they are in the Castle," the Warden told Bjarn. "He's in stable, if weak condition. And patients tend to be at greater ease away from a medical ward, for some reason."

"Could I get a few of your younger healers to assist me?" asked Bjarn, "I'm not as young as I once was."

Thomas stepped up from his place on the other side of Sir Dractor's bed. Bjarn had forgotten he was there.

"I'll help," he said.

With the help of two young healers, Thomas and Bjarn began to slowly wheel Sir Dractor's bed out of the infirmary, and down the hall, and into the great courtyard. It was easier to go directly across it than to take the longer route through the corridors, and it was a beautiful evening.

Halfway across the yard, a particularly large display was set off, causing Sir Dractor to open his eyes and gaze up at the brilliant display of green and gold.

"What happened?" he managed to croak, exhausting himself. He lay still, breathing slowly, savouring the joyous booms of the fireworks.

"You took ill, my friend," said Bjarn, "from a magical ailment that seems to have been intended for another. The healer says that you're cured, but the return to strength will take a while." Another display went off. "I'm delaying our return to Drullen Bell by a week or so, so that you will be well enough to travel with us."

Sir Dractor managed a quiet thank you.

The bed had been halted. Thomas, Bjarn, and the healers were standing still, as Sir Dractor lay in the open air, savouring the crack of the fireworks, and- when he managed to open his eyes for a few moments at a time- their glittering displays.

Finally, in a triumphant crescendo of earcracking sound and blinding light, the fireworks ended. By the time his bearers started moving the bed, Sir Dractor was already asleep again, dozing like a babe. And he remained asleep long after they wheeled the bed into his room, and shoved the fourposter out of the way.

J-10 The Yellow Castle

Instead of going strait to the ballroom Valric ran to his chambers. He noticed a fair bit of blood splattered all over his suit, some of it his, some of it someone elses. He quickly tore the ugly thing off and moved into something more comfortable.

But not his heavy armour. After his recent melee he decided to take his magical broadsword with him.

Once he got back to the ballroom it appeared the dancing was over and everyone was searching for a good place to watch the fireworks.
“Valricsh? Where’d ye goe?”
Groaned Theodore clutching his head. Rodney asked the same question but not in a slurred speech like that. Jother was the only other one there and he had an odd look in his eye.

Valric looked around “Wheres Santis and Vik?”

Rodney shrugged “They left in a hustle a few moments ago, I thought they were with you.”

“Bah!!!!!!!!! Just like ol’ Santis, chargin’ off not knowing where he was going.”

Laughed Valric who immediately helped himself to their discarded drinks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kale stumbled to his feet. With his luck it was only obvious that he would land in a pigsty after jumping over the wall. Dusting himself off he set off to find Belzzar who was most likely down by the windships.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Hurry you fools! If you don’t hastin’ I’ll see to it you die on the rack!” Shrieked Belzzar.

The elites who were stumbling about didn’t even bother listening to him. Already knowing what he was going to say.

“What happened back there?” Barked Radu who had his scimitar drawn.

“Nothing important.” Whispered Belzzar quickly.

The five elites had one dragon attached and were finishing on the last one.

“If I understand correctly, if Kale doesn’t show up in time we leave him behind?”

Belzzar laughed “The incompotent Bull would make any difference. He’s soo stupid he doesn’t even know the Bull’s have their own kingdom!”

Kale blinked when he heard that. He had been eavsdropping from a nearby tree.

“There! About bloody time, everyone onboard!” Shouted Radu, helping Belzzar in.

Kale who didn’t care much for any of them let them fly away with him still behind the tree. “…The Bull’s have their own Kingdom……”

Location: A small village just outside Orion

Elbadar was somewhat tired. It was midmorning the day after the Ball, and he had been up since a fairly early hour, in order to return to his regiment on time. This, of course, came after a late night of partying and dancing.

Stifling a yawn, Elbadar glanced at his riding companion. Oris Del Grakken looked rather like a thundercloud, having overindulged at the bar the night before.

"Have a good night?" Elbadar asked pleasantly. "Did you find yourself any more nasty commissions?"

"Why do you want to know?" snapped Del Grakken. "Are you ready to give in? It just so happens that I DID get a few offers."

"I hoped you turned them all down," said Elbadar, "because the regiment is going to be busy for a while."

Del Grakken sat up in his saddle, and looked at Elbadar.

"You found a commission?" he said blankly.

"That I did," said Elbadar, pleased with himself. "We'll set out immediately for the Fell Isle."

"The Fell Isle?" Del Grakken muttered to himself. Elbadar then proceeded, with the air of a man very pleased with himself, to explain their mission, to help drive out the remnants of the rebel members of the Houndstooth clan. By the time he had finished, they had reached the village where their men were quartered.

"Corporal Halfstare!" Elbadar addressed the waiting soldier as they arrived. "Order the troops to pack up and move out. We have a job to do. After the midday meal, we set out for Halleban, at the mouth of the Hemlock River in Crusader territory. From there we take ship to the Dark Forest territory on the Fell Isle. The ship will be expecting us in ten days. Let's get moving."

And to the immense irritation of Captain Del Grakken's aching head, the soldiers began to do that with a great deal of noise and relish.

Lord_Of_The_LEGO wrote:It was Dale. His clothes were rotten, his skin was deadly pale, and he could barely move do to the cramps. But it was Dale. And he was looking down as his hand. He had cut his hand. He had cut it on a rock. It was bleeding. And it was not transparent. Dale was alive.

Dale was, understandably, shocked. So shocked that he simply sat -- collapsing almost -- on the ground. Slowly, as if in a fog, Dale tried to understand what had happened. So. That wizard. That wizard had done this. Daner had revived Dale. Dale was free from Majisto’s curse.

Dale looked, dazed, at his ragged, rotten clothes. He unbleeding hand wandered over the skin of his chest, feeling, groping. His fingers touched a ropey scar. So. When Majisto had stabbed him, when his companions buried him…he was not truly dead. His body had been preserved, somehow, while his spirit had been wrenched away and trapped in Reno’s cursed sword. Dale looked about. Where was the sword now? Daner must still have it. So. His body had been preserved, his cloths had not, and his spirit had been trapped in that sword. That was it.

Dale stood shakily. He looked at his bleeding hand, which as clotting now, the cut filled with drying blood and grime. He looked at his tattered clothes. He was next to naked. Dale needed help.

Dale stumbled back over to where he had forced himself out of the oppressive ground. His grave site. In the upturned earth, he sat footprints. They were not his own. Dale looked up. The print went up that way, following a faint trail. There must be a town nearby. With one last look at his ‘grave’, Dale began to unsteadily follow the trail.

An acrid smell of sulfur washed over two Dragon Masters as they looked up at the fireworks. One coughed and wheezed.

"Tyco fireworks." snarled Japheth, scrubbing at his nose with his beefy hand.

Ajaxx did not reply. He turned his gaze away from the bright flashes and bangs and instead stared intently at the crowd surrounding him. No other Dragon Masters could be seen, which didn't mean they weren't there. The fireworks cast bright flashes of light upon the crowds, but also created dark shadows.

"Come." said Ajaxx, "Let us go."

"Now?" said Japheth.

Ajaxx nodded.

"We need not watch this display of frivolousness. We be needing to return to Port Jozef."

And without another word, they slipped away out of the gardens. Standing in the shadows, Lord Void watched them go.

"Well, my dear," said Bernard Quorandis as he and his wife left Sir Dractor's room, where they had been to see the dozing knight. "Are you ready to be off?"

"As long as you are," replied Elwen. "I have nothing left to remain here for."

"Then let us go," said Bernard. "We've put off this honeymoon long enough, I think."

Sir Dractor cracked an eyelid, catching their last words. They were just in the hall.

"Where are you going?" he croaked. Elwen and Bernard spun around.

"We, uh..." Elwen stuttered as she took in the fact that he was awake. "We're going to the Western Knight's Kingdom riviera. Bernard knows someone with a villa overlooking the sea."

"How are you feeling?" asked Bernard, glad they had caught him awake before they left. But Sir Dractor had already dozed off again.

Shaking their heads, Elwen and Bernard left the room, ready to leave Orion, and start their married life properly.

It had been a week since the Classic Emperor’s Ball. Lord Void and his entourage had returned to the Grolling Fortress. While Elsa Byrd haughtily vanished into ‘her’ quarters, Lord Void had a short council with Caimlin.

“Tomorrow,” instructed Lord Void, pouring both of them a glass of Guardendia Innis he has ‘acquired’ from the Ball, “You will return to the Fire Breathing Fortress construction site and observe the progress. Send me a report within three days.”

“By carrier pigeon, milord?”

Lord Void nodded impatiently.

“Yes.”

Caimlin sipped at his wine and then said, “Anything else, milord?”

“No,” said Lord Void, “Not for you. But as for me…I’m going to pay a visit to Majisto’s Workshop.”

Caimlin looked up.

“Why, milord?”

Lord Void’s eyes glinted.

“I need to do a little research…on a certain Dragonsbane commander-general…”

Ajaxx Dragonsbane and Japheth were back in Port Jozef and the inn Royal Ruby.

“Report, Captain.” ordered Ajaxx tiredly. It had been a long, weary ride across the Moawbi Desert.

“Sir,” said Captain Dolter promptly, “All be in order, sir. The Brigade has remained low and caused no disturbances. All recruits be accounted for.”

Ajaxx nodded.

“That be good, Captain,” he said, “That be all.”

Dolter saluted and left. Ajaxx turned to Japheth, who was beginning to undo his laces.

“Abort that, Japheth,” said Ajaxx, “Ye need to be going to spy immediately.”

Japheth groaned but managed to stifle a whiny “Now?”.

“Aye, Ajaxx…” he mumbled, and laced up his boot again.

He straightened and said formally and stiffly, “What be ye orders, sir?”

“Go to the building site,” ordered Ajaxx immediately, “of the Fire Breathing Fortress. Observe the officers overseeing it. Observe the slaves. Observe the construction itself. If there be any weakness we can exploit, note it.”

Japheth bowed stiffly.

“Aye, milord.”

He left Ajaxx then and repacked his backpack, grumbling. Then he left the Royal Ruby and wandered to the outskirts of Port Jozef. After glancing about, he covertly slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a little glass orb. It was the travel-sized crystal ball Opal had given him. Japheth quickly rubbed it, and, feeling slightly foolish, whispered, “Mistress Opal.”

There was a moment of silence, and then the little ball vibrated and jingled softly, like it had a little bell hidden inside. It fell silent, then it vibrated and jingled again. This repeated three more times before there was a clicking noise and Opal’s clear voice came out of the crystal ball.

“This is Opal. I am sorry, but I am away from my crystal ball for a moment. Please leave your name and a short message after the beep and I will try to get back to you. Thank you.”

There was a loud beep and Japheth nearly dropped the ball. Angrily, he shook it and then stuffed it back in his pocket. Grumbling, he turned his sights eastward. Might as well get walking. It was a week’s journey to the Fire Breathing Fortress…

Note: This is an out of sync post,(here after refered to as an OOS)that takes place some time during the ball.

The sorcerer Drock sat at the side of the ballroom watching the dancers fly across the floor. He was completely bored and completely miserable. Other then the nobles he’d brought with him, Drock hadn’t seen one familiar face. Of course he had tried to make conversation with the other royals, but they only seemed to be interested in talking about politics and other, equally boring, subjects. And as the night wore on, it didn’t get anymore exciting. Drock was about ready to stoop to conversation with the palace guards, when suddenly Caimlin appeared.

“Caimlin?!”

The Dragon Master turned to see who had called him.

"Drock! Well, when did you arrive?”

“Late, it seems. Although I don’t believe I missed anything. Is Lord Void here?”

“Yes, he’s wandering about here somewhere. And if I may say so, it’s nice to see you dressed so regally. Are those Jarvick’s robes?”

Drock nodded. “Oh, that reminds me. He wanted me to give you this.” The sorcerer held out a leather bound volume entitled Battle Tactics of the Old World by Agleese the chronicler.

“How is Jarvick?” Caimlin asked, taking the book.

“I can’t say right now. Haven’t heard from him since he left for Depe’ceala.”

“Yes, I heard about that. Where is it exactly?”

“I don’t know really, someplace far west of the A latitude. Finding it has been Jarvick’s dream for the longest time. ‘Serpent’s cradle’, that’s what Depe’ceala means. Legend says it’s the birthing grounds of all the great water dragons. A settlement there would mean an enormous opportunity for the taming and use of those beasts.”

“But I thought you already bred sea serpents on the isle?”

“We do, but those are just your normal water dragons and locknest serpents. The Great Water Dragons are much larger, more powerful serpents.

“You sound quite excited about it.”

“Ah, it’s Jarvick’s dream not mine. But I do see the advantages. Just think about it, Caimlin. The Dragon Masters will be the first faction in all Dametreos to have a supporting colony outside of this region. And the real beauty of it is that if another ‘BloodVaine’ arose and wiped us out here, the Dragon Masters as a people would still survive. Of course that’s what we do best, more then any other faction in the land. At any rate, it’s pretty exciting if you like thinking on such things.”

“And this is going to be a real colony then? A real expansion of the Dragon Master empire?”

“Well yes. You didn’t think Jarvick meant to set up his own kingdom? No, he told me that I’d receive a teleharm the first thing once he was established in the land. It will be a real colony alright, with tributes and ambassadors and everything. And any new discoveries or wealth that might be found there will be put to the use of all Dragon Masters. Caimlin?…Caimlin?”

“Huh, what? Oh, I’m sorry, I was distracted. You were talking about teleharms and I couldn’t help thinking about one I received not too long ago. Tell me Drock, can you get a teleharm meant for someone else by accident?”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, back in May, when I was on a trip to buy some slaves for Lord Void I got one that didn’t seem to be for me. It was right after I had set to sea with the ships I’d purchased for transporting the slaves. We were off the coast of Fright Knight territory when I got this whirring sensation in my head.

‘Listen Lady, ya can kill me now, but then I won’t be able to help ya escape.’

That’s what it said.”

“Well I’m not too knowledgeable in that area myself, but I think it’s possible. Especially if the sender has sustained some sort of head injury. I wouldn’t worry about it Caimlin, unless there’s something else your not telling me.”

Caimlin squinted, peering into the sorcerer’s unusually colored eyes. “You’re more perceptive then you look. There was something else. The voice sounded like that of an old friend of mine. Targon.”

“Targon?”

“Yes, and the weird thing is, I heard he died shortly after the war.”

“Wait, this Targon… He wouldn’t happen to be a big, gruff, colonel with a red beard and no proper sense of fear, would he?”

“You’ve met?!”

“Met? I never had a better time nearly killing someone in my life! So he’s dead?”

Caimlin nodded. “So they told me.”

Drock was silent for a moment, staring down at his two big feet. “Have you tried sending a teleharm back?”

“No, he’s dead.”

“Are, you sure about that? Remember, you thought I was dead for a while as well. Besides, it can’t hur—

“Oh there you are Dahling.” Caimlin cringed at the sound of the voice calling behind him.

“Who the—” Drock began, but again he was interrupted as Elsa Byrd came pattering around to face Caimlin.

“There you are Camelskin. You haven’t seen Void around here, have you Dahling? I tried talking to some of the other wizards but they simply don’t appreciate the finer points of architecture. And Dahling, you wouldn’t believe what some of them are wearing! These blasé one-color robes are sooo last year. But all this chit chat is meaningless, meaningless! I must find Lord Voi—

It was Elsa who was interrupted this time, as Drock picked her off the floor and drew her up to his eye level. “You know, for the longest time, I thought I was the shortest spell-weaver in Dametreos. You Madame, have just prooved me wrong.”
Let us stop for a moment and ponder the signiture...

Ok, enough of that!

J-10 The Yellow Castle

The Orion sky was lit up by a thousand different colours. Valric watched silently from the ballroom balcony.

Occasionally taking a swig of alcohol. Wine, rum, beer, he had had everything in an unhealthy dose that night but he still couldn’t get as loaded as he had wished. Once he finished his mug he grimaced and threw it away.

Standing not far away were Theodore, Rodney and Jother.Theodore groaned mumbling “never again” over and over again. Rodney muttered something under his breath, Jother had said very little all evening.

“Well this evenin’ wudn’t as good as I thought it would be.”

Valric muttered to whoever was listening.
“Aye’ Replied Rodney blankly.

“So Valric, whats all this about going to Castle Dracul?”

Asked Rodney trying to spark a conversation.

“Nothing much. I just have to pay back a certain wizard something. It will probley end up with his brains splattered all over the wall and my sword.” Growled Valric.

“Ah ha! The type of thing I would have expected from the Slayer of he Ghoul of Orion!” Began Rodney excitedly.

“Theodore and a group of good knights did most of the work…” Said Valric hastily.

“Yeah…” Groaned Theodore off to the side.

“Anyway as a troubadour I’m trained as a knight and a minstril. I’m sure if you are going to storm an evil wizard’s castle you could use an extra hand.”

Valric turned to him, now interested “If ye want to come I won’t stop you. But over the years I’ve lost a fair few friends who wanted to be an “extra hand.” Said Valric darkly.Theodore looked at him oddly, that wasn’t have the huge jolly knight usually acted.

“Well Rodney have you ever faced a wizard in a fight to the death?” Asked Valric.

Rodney shrugged “I’ve seen an fatal offensive spell fired once or twice but never at me. But I do have a magical spear.”

Valric’s interest was sparked even more. “Magical? Let’s see it!” He asked eagerly.

“It’s up in my courters” Replied Rodney. “It is useful. It has the power of frost and will burn anybody it touches, it is soo cold.”

“Interestin” Laughed Valric. He drew his from it’s shoulder strap. “This ‘un doesn’t have any ice powers but it will slice through creatures of darkness like they were air.”

Jother looked around uneasily at all the other magic users in the room and in the garden area. Maybe Valric really was important to Venvorskar, since the big knight seemed to have it in for wizards….

Formendacil wrote:"How are you feeling?" asked Bernard, glad they had caught him awake before they left. But Sir Dractor had already dozed off again.
Grid: J-10
Location: Orion

For the next week, Dractor did not leave his cramped quarters in the Yellow Castle. He was never alone, however. While he was asleep, slowly gathering his energy that had so suddenly been so shattered and fragmented, Bjarn was nearby, usually at the desk, quill scratching away. While Dractor was awake, Bjarn shared a meal with the knight, carefully feeding Dractor bits of bread soaked in broth or a mead. When Bjarn was away, Shainya or Thomas brought Sir Dractor his meals. Once, Hans, Adrian and Cate visited. Sir Dractor had been asleep then when they had quietly entered, so the teenage trio left quickly.

After a week, when the Chief Warden deemed it safe to do so, Sir Dractor was loaded onto a litter, and the Forestmen envoy began their journey home to Delvarden Gard. Bjarn’s Elite Guard was more than willing to take up the task of carrying the warrior, for many of them had fought alongside Sir Dractor, and considered him a great hero. Needless to say, the Forestmen envoy left Orion in a much different state than it came. In addition to the litter, Aros, Alex and Luxus had also come along, adding to the bulk. The going was slow, unhurried, and calm. Sir Dractor slept most of the time, the rhythmic swaying of the litter not disturbing him. However, when he did awake, he could be certain that one of three persons would always be there, watching: Bjarn, Thomas and Luxus. And thus, when Sir Dractor awoke on the fifth day a travel, the first thing he saw was the anxious eyes of Luxus.
