Ulmaris Castle
To celebrate my 1000th post, I present to you:
Ulmaris Castle
Post-Mod Gallery
These pictures are only of the exterior of the castle. Interior shots will come after Brickfest when I don't feel so much like a chicken with my head cut off.
Ulmaris Castle boasts
-truly concentric design
-2 port cullis
-draw bridge
-2 gatehouses
-salley port with dock
-stables
-kitchen
-blacksmith
-well
-2 cisterns
-barracks (room for 22 soldiers)
-smokehouse (reused)
-storehouse
-3 bedrooms
-1 great hall
-library
-study
-3 kinds of archer loops (Siskindian, Carnian, Savatarian)
-large amount of modularity (for model transportation)
Christina did much of the interior work, as well as the garden in the courtyard. All in all we am very pleased with the results. Well worth the months of planning and the month of construction.
Enjoy and please let us know what you think!

Hey Anthony and Christina,
Wow! It looks great! Is this whole thing going to Brickfest? Can't wait for moderation to check it out in detail.

Hello Anthony and Christina,
Congrats on the newly constructed castle. I bet it looks both massive and frightening if you sit on your knees in front of it with your head (eyes) at table height. That way, you get somewhat of an idea how big it is from the perspective of a single tiny minifig.
Did you create some special knights as well for this castle (color variations for new and different army). The current style for my army is a yellow torso with blue arms attached and black hips with white legs. Looks quite distinctive.

really what else can be said here? I love a lot of the details, like the well.. the well is awesome. Nice bellows also! I love the baker, making a giant muffin, or big cake or whatever
I would also like to know if you are going to have a custom army, or one that is an offshoot of one of the main factions, or simply an army of black falcons or what?

Three threads- big threads- on ONE MOC...
Tony, you need to go into salesmanship.
Meanwhile, an awesome looking castle- the mottling is very well-done, and the overall design is both impressive, and not monotonous, in spite of its regularity.
And it's big.
Quite big.
Please tell me I am mixing things up when I understand this is going to Brickfest...

Wow! Very nice. Well worth the wait and hype.
I like how the rare cypress tree has a place of honor in the center of the courtyard. Now all you need is a guy with a pitchfork digging it up and a guy with a black sword trying to stop him.
Congratulations on a truly great MOC. Can't wait to see the interior.

Well I'll be !
That's quite the castle you've got there. Truth be told, when you first revealed your blueprints, I wasn't really convinced that you would be able to pull it off. It simply seemed too big! That really is something to behold.
I must say, I am impressed. This castle is probably the best MOC I've seen this year! Would you believe that I actually prefer your intepretation of Beaumaris to the larger version constructed by Dr. Carney.
The garden in the centre of the castle is a nice touch, as are the cobblestone pathways that encompass this great fort. Its nice to see the castle inhabited by one of the truly classic factions as well. (The Black Falcons certainly have their share of great castles).
The only thing I would add is a bit of landscaping, particularly in front of the castle. As it stands, the field is a bit too flat for my tastes. Creating a few slight variations with green plates would add alot. Still, this is a great MOC. Easily one of my favorites!
