Names of ships

does anyone know the names of lots of different kinds of ships from the Pirate era?

I call them all "Ye ol' skipper" for some wierd reasons, except The Maw that is(not yet built though). :oops:

i remember seeing a post with all the different kinds on Piratebricks once but i dont know where that is

I think it was common to name a ship after a certain quality, maybe pirate captains were more humorus when naming their vessels.

The men-of-war could be named "Bravery" or "Manhood" or named after someone in the countrys royal family or national symbols like "The duke of NN" or "Britannia"

Mybe after some old mythical creature like "Unicorn" or gods and godesses like "Victoria"

The site's down and I don't think it's coming back up. I started a topic about classes of ships and I can't remember there being any topic about specific names...

Really? Well it's down on my end of the line. The site only averaged 1 post a week for the past few monthes anyways :cry:

i meant like kinds of ships not names of ships, such as: Galleon, Man of war. Those are almost the only ones i know
