Minifig scale conversion?

I'm sure someone else has though of this but this is what I am using.

Assuming a minifig with no hair is 6 feet tall, which equals four bricks high, a brick (without studs) converts to about 1.5 feet. Or a plate converts to .5 feet.

Using the same assumption, a brick is 1.2 feet wide.

So my castle walls are 27 feet high and 4.8 feet thick ! I feel safe !

I have not converted it to metric ?

Any thoughts?

Only 4.8 feet thick? Pah... My battering ram could take that down, and it was made for wooden gates.

Actually I'd go for walls more like 6-10 studs wide, and largely solid. That makes them more in scale, if indeed you are trying to achieve a real world scale.

Everything is relative. In the Lego set world the walls are 12ft high and 1.2 feet thick. I always had a problem with that growing up. If someone gave me a boost I could be over the wall of the kings castle! So even when I was young I was making my castles 2 wall pieces high. The problem still was that they were a mere 1.2 feet thick. Not until I broke from using wall pieces (I never felt so free ) did I start making thicker walls.

Not bad. Using your scale, my walls are 38H x 9.6W.

Or 25.5 x 8 by the brick.

Yes I think about it since long. I was about 10-11 years old when I think of a correspondance.

I always considered a 1x6 plate as a 6 feet rule. 1x6 plate is a bit more taller than minifigs. Peoples are a bit shorter than 6 feet habitually. It correspond well. It make's minifigs to be about 5'5" I think. About the mean tall of true people. Plus ! mean Middle ages peoples were a bit shorter than today's people.

So it's easy to remember. 1 stud = 1 feet. 6 stud = 5 bricks tall. So 5 bricks tall = 6 feet.

For the correspondance in meters it's easy. 6" is about 2m.
1 stud = 1/3m, 3 stud = 1m.

Its strange, of all the MOCs I've seen, I don't recall very many with walls thicker than 4 dots. Does anyone have photos? I think most are 2 dots? My castle itself is built with walls 2 dots thick. I just can't justify the expense of making thicker walls.

Actually its more expensive for me to buy the large armies that protect the City-State than to buy construction material for the fortifications.

If 5 bricks equals 6 feet, then each brick is 1.2 feet tall. That would make a minifig only 4 feet 9 inches ! Thats a pretty tiny fellow ! And that is with shoes!

I prefer to think of my knights as 6 feet tall . That would make a brick 1.5 feet tall and 1.2 feet wide.

The average height was around 5'2" back then, but I can't have a Black Falcon army that is 4'9"! I just can't!

You must calculate with hair. It's make about 5'1".
And if you add a cape, it will be 5'2"

I'm not agree with should calculate a minifig as 6' tall. It's too much.

Using the calculator with 5.5 feet as minifig height and a few guesses, the height of one of the tower-walls on the new KK castle (excluding raised baseplate, as that would be pretty easy to scale) is 7.54 feet. I don't feel safe.
