Soviet arch
Soviet arch
I quite enjoy bulding arches, as you probably guessed from my first public MOC.
I will probably build and MOC of this arch one day, when I have enough materials:
http://my.markov.ru/img/vdnh.jpg
It's located in Moscow, and serves as an entrance to the economic exibition grounds.
If any of the master MOCists here would like to build it, it would be great!

Thats very nice looking structure. Lots of things in Russia look good.

This would be a good structure for a MOC. Depending on the scale you use, I'm guessing this could be done sooner rather than later too - most of this arch is all pillars, so you wouldn't have to worry about amassing the same number of bricks required for say, the famous one in France, or this much smaller one in NYC (http://www.planetdan.net/pics/newyork/w ... park_1.jpg)- I'd love to see it when your done!

It's good to see that image again! I actually got that NYU bulletin in the mail when it first came out - it was enough to make me consider NYU - and realize there was no way to afford it.Bruce N H wrote:Hey,
Eric Harshbarger has a great LEGO rendition of the Washington Square arch in NYC.
Eric has a really interesting story - I enjoyed searching/reading the rest of the site. Thanks Bruce.

The building seen through the arch is Pavilion 1 of the All-Russian Exhibition Center. The view from the other side has the People's Friendship Fountain in front of the pavilion.
