LOTR Legos
Ok, I'm sure everyone wishes that lego would get off their but and make either LOTR legos or Cronicles of Narnia sets. I find that when it comes to new lego themes they get worse and worse, very inferior to castle legos. What is your idea for a perfect theme?

History and Mythology based themes.

Yes! Lego has had success with history in the past.JPinoy wrote:History and Mythology based themes.
Castle, Shogun/Samurai, western (indians, cowboys, and calvery), Pirates, Imperial armies/navies, etc. And now Vikings.
History - Roman Empire, Mayan or Aztec Empire, would have great figures and sets.
Mythology - Greek, Roman, Celtic, Egyptian, etc.
I would be in Lego heaven if I had some Greek gods and a Mount Olympus set! Jason and the Argonauts! Trojan Horse! Many possibilities.
And of course I'd be pleased with the initial thread idea, LOTR and Narnia.
Hmm... this is a topic we've mentioned often, and as far as I remember, most agree that something ancient would be very nice, or more similiar to "classic-castle".
For me, I like the idea that one member came up with some time ago (I can't remember who), with an ancient China theme (I think it's only a matter of time, really). This theme would have a dragon, phoenix and perhaps tiger faction, and would feature ancient chinese armor and weaponry... I would buy a lot of this kind of theme.

I think has been done before, but oh well, another chance to express my opinions.
A historical ancient china theme, as well as another non-historical theme.
LOTR is completely out, some other company already has the license.
Narnia:YES. The new series is coming out on the big screen. It's what Lego needs to sell sets, big movies that grab peoples attention. But if they did it movie-based, the figs would be skin-toned. Oh, well.
Lego historical characters sets. Tiny boxes containing historical figures for low prices. They'd sadly be skin toned too.
Historical armies:Awesome. I can just imagine a game of Brikwars where the Romans are attacking a Celtic hill fort. Mythology:Another awesome idea. I'd love to have Poseiden fig with real trident! And trans-yellow lightning bolts for Zeus.
Generic fantasy sets. A dwarven mine, an elvish tree fort, a halfling farm, etc., plus some battles such as Trolls attack dwarves or barbarians burn farms, etc. And more coloured beards for dwarves!

All of these suggestion would be awesome. Here's another... howabout the American Revolution. You could have sea battles with frigates, land battles with lines of brilliantly colored figures, small forts with a siege and all. I don't know if you have notice by now... but I am fond of history.... especially the rev war.
As to Narnia... I think they would make a killing. Recently I have been displeased with their new themes like 'Dino Attack.' Why can't they ressurect old castle legos like the yellow knights? KK2 is awesome, but I don't think that its very interesting with jellybeans and all.

MegaBlocks has the Narnia license. That's why some of us have been making Narnia MOCs ourselves.
An ancient Chinese theme would be awesome, but I'd really love to see Greek and/or Roman themes as well.

Well, it's the movie-based building block license, so curse movie execs, not the Lewis estate. This was announced back in June:Recluce wrote:They do? When did that happen? I haven't seen anything about it. Curse you megablocks and Narnia execs!

Aww, man! Now I have to buy them for their Narnia accessories.... [sigh] Lego, you really missed out on this one. It's a classic for gosh sake! And a beautiful mix of a few genres.
