Medieval Sourcebook online - A treasure trove!

Post by Recluce »

Well, I guess I've been here long enough to divulge some of my secrets.... one of them is the Medieval Sourcebook. It's great for medieval texts, and as anyone who studies history knows, they can be great for giving you insight into the lives of the peasants and nobles alike. But it doesn't just have texts.... really, you will have to visit it to realize how helpful this site can be. They also have a page of links for other medieval sites. Enjoy my friends!

Cool! Thanks for the link, Recluce. That reminds me, I really want to work on our set of links to castle resources.

WOW

This site is deep with resources... thanks for the link! I have a feeling I'll be finding/reading new things from this site for some time - they seem to have covered almost every part (if not every part) of medieval society/culture.

As you can see -- Recluce is right, that site is quite good. You really can't appreciate the breadth of information found there without sitting down and reading for a few hours... it's got a -lot- of stuff.

I've been using that site as a reference for quite awhile now.. love it. Smart move posting it here, Recluce! - I'd never considered posting it (not for fear of revealing my secrets, of course, but just because the thought never occurred to me).

Just so my post doesn't come off as one long "atta boy" -- here are some other interesting Castle-related links:

The Knights Templar

Anglo-Saxon History

The History of Britain

The Best Collection of Medieval Military Accounts Ever!
(The site seems to be down, I hope it isn't gone forever - it was an amazing site.)

Maps of Medieval Cities

Medieval Life

Even with all those.. I still recommend The Medieval Sourcebook as the best all-round reference.

Smart posting Damien - I soon realized how vast it was when I became lost in the links of it all - thanks for your recommendations-

(I think I've posted two "atta boy"s so far, so I'll take a break and check out the site some more ;-))
