Blasterman and Red Bean

I'm not sure if there's anything you can do about this, but the mark up here is really revolting:

This might not be the right place for this. It probably belongs in the "Buy/Sell/Trade board. I think that there should be a custom board. Because the moc board is overflowing with custom parts these days.

Good point. I kind of forget about the B/S/T board as I don't ever read that one, so I posted here since their customs are MOCs of a sort. Admin-types, is there some way you can shift this thread over? Or should I delete my post and repost in B/S/T?

Thanks,
Bruce

What kind of moron would do this? Can this person do this legaly, or do they have to have BLASTERMAN's or Red Bean's permission?

Wow, what some people will do for a few bucks.

I don't see what they could do about it, once bought they belong to whoever bought them. They couldn't make their own casts, produce and sell them, but re-selling them isn't against any law, however it's still not a nice thing to do. It would be like asking if Lego could do anything about people selling Lego on E-Bay at high prices, it's just a product, once it's sold it belongs to the person that bought it, you can't controll how much they sell it for.

The custom sellers could just have their own auctions for the weapons. Sure you dont make as much money, but it is great advertising and would draw more people to the Little Armory and to Redbeans weapons.

I'm not too worried about it.

It is sad though, trying to make 2-3 dollars more on something like this.
The only thing that does bother me, is someone seeing the "EzBricks" listing,
and thinking it's something they made. If that's the case, then they might go
ahead and pay those high prices...unaware of the cheaper source.

Either way, bad ethics on "EzBrick's" part, as I see it.

Legally, yes - what's the difference between reselling Lego and reselling Little Armory stuff? And he is consistent: there's the chrome Lego sword over-priced at $5. Cavaet Emptor, let the buyer beware. Not everyone sells parts for the same price on BrickLink - and on eBay it's harder to get at price comparison, so he is taking advantage of uneducated buyers. Not much to do except maybe offer what he does for half the price! :D

I just wanted to add that I'm not bothered by the re-selling itself. After all, that is all that E-bay and Bricklink are, reselling someone else's product. I was just particularly bothered by the extreme mark-ups. I suppose it shouldn't surprise me--this is the same seller that makes very nice custom figs, but then charges $20-$30 each.
If Jeff or Isaac were bothered I don't think there is anything they could do except try to educate potential buyers about the original source of the custom weapons, or of course refuse to sell to Ebrickz.

Both those sound to be good solutions Bruce. nce I make an order from Jeff, I will be sure to post a link to the Little Armory so people will know the "best" way to get these great weapons. Hopefully no one will buy these items at this terrible price and the seller will lose the listing fess. That may teach them to price things fairly.

Not selling to this guy might be difficult for Jeff and Issac to know who the seller is, he may use a different name and email to purchase the items from the one he uses for ebay. But if they could figure it out, blocking his source might help for the short term anyway.

Things like this is what turns people off ebay. He may not be legally doing anything wrong, but morally he is in it for the wrong reasons. (Crosses fingers and hopes to see no sales for this guy.)

Idea.

Man, this is going to sound really immature and is probably against ebay rules, but what if someone ordered from him and then posted Red Bean's and Jeff's web sites in the feedback?

Or am I thinking a little too juvenile?

LOL...I've thought about doing that exact thing, but she
knows me and won't deal with me directly.

Yes, you read it - "She". The best I can figure, is that
EzBricks is run by multiple persons. The only one I've dealt
with is a woman, with a very arrogant attitude.

"She" emailed me(way back)trying to arrange some kind of
deal with me concerning using my SW guns with her figs.
I told her "order what you need, I'll discount the total".

About that same time, I ordered a custom fig from her
and asked her for some advice on making decals. I wanted
to make some for myself, not to sell. She only responded when
I emailed her back(week later)with a more "serious"
tone, noting how I responded to her, so return the courtesy.

Well, that's when the poop hit the fan. All of the sudden,
I had an attitude, and was acting childish. She also threw
in a few lines about the decals like I was trying to steal her
business.

There you have it. That's my experience with "them".
Take it for what you will.

I know "her" name, but nothing will stop them from getting my
stuff if they use another name or address.

What the Megablocks. I think I have the right to post her info.
