Exoforce new 2006

Oh... should have read more carefully. So it isn´t licensed, then I might actually like the idea of it. I´m still not interested in it though, except the figs which are pretty cool.

I must agree most castlers are going to have difficulties using many of the pieces that come with these soon to be released sets but I must say it is possable. For those of us whom, enjoy mecha, steam mecha, and space these sets will no doubt be very usefull. As for the figs the hair (to myself at least) is going to be very difficult to use (aside from the black hair piece) The robot figs however could be used as golems of sorts or ancient automoton left behind by some technologically advanced race ( think Morrowind ). Aside from that I guess I can only say that I'll have to wait to see if I feel like purchasing any of these sets.

Its a great idea, well, in the basics.

I love mechas, I love anime. However, the lack of female characters make this not so interesting and it seems to be one of those one million Sentai stories without either a good story nor interesting characters.

The sets seems interesting though, and I will have a great use of the hairdos.
Mechas goes to my small collection of gasmasked soldiers, the last remains of my space theme.

On the anime-themed figs, Norbert Black, one of my favorite minifig customizers has a bunch of great figs based on anime and manga.

Oh no! LEGO is trying to be 'cool' again.

Trying to capitalize on the increasing popularity of anime and manga to compensate for uninspired set design? Not really my cup of tea. I love LEGO as much as the next AFOL, but this line just doesn't do it for me. I know that mecha are popular with builders, but this line is little more than the large KKII knights with minifig pilots.

This line is about the biggest Japanese stereotype I've ever seen. I can't stop laughing when I look at these things. Still, I suppose kids will love these.

If they want Mecha knights... they should've patterned their new sets after the anime called "Escaflowne".

Agreed, its too thin (and anime should have a really thick and sometimes confusing storyline), we havent heard much of it yet though, but I dont have high expectations. I dont like when they start a comic thats thin, if they dont have a complex story about betrayal, conspiracy etc there is no reason to make one, just much better to let kids run around with them. When I was 8yrs I made a story that was complex together with some friends, I really, really hope this turns into something good.

About weaponry, this is a step forward for this. Though, weapons has been around since the classic era, just not mentioned as weapons. Well, atleast they dont give space soldiers mini M16's (that would be so corny, the M16 is even outdated in real life).

The Samurai-like mechas are cool though.

The red robot looks kinda cool, and the little bad guy robot that TLC is offering if you become a Brickmaster is sweet.

I dont mean to be harsh but this theme makes me feel sick...
But that might just be because of my dislike of anything anime or mecha.

The sets seem to have lots of new juniorised pieces and the mininfigs just look bad (IMO).
I can see some Bionicle-ish stuff in their too.

(I think the saying had something to do about social classes or human races but I found it fitting)

Well, atleast they didnt make licenses, if this is going to be a TV-show (some source told me it was in the plans) this may be a good source for lego to get some economy and perhaps more things will be made into animated series (KK2?). In length though, this may cause lego to go far from building and the prices may increase somewhat.
Even though its just a rumour, it would be interesting to see it develop, if its true, that is.

Okay, three, as Sava just said.

Movie is one thing, but it does not mean there will be long-term relationships with the film industry as a cartoon would. Many books are turned into movies, and only a few (Like James Bond) goes on and on, but a TV series, is almost allways meant to go on more than one season.
