Here is my entry for the "admin's pick" category (hmm, -nudges other admins- might I win by default?)
To bring back a valuable hippogryph pelt, or, even better, capture a live beast as a steed fit for a king, the hunters tracked them to their high mountain aeries. However, they did not know what they were in for. Nothing is more dangerous than a mother hippogryph protecting her eggs.
Edit: I forgot to add, this was very directly inspired by Kenn's Hippogriff Tree and by the fact that I found a couple of copies of "Draco's Encounter with Buckbeak" at clearance prices.
Excellent MOC! The cliff side and nest are well done and the whole scene is alive with action. I'm glad to see that Hippogryphs are getting more play in MOCs as they are one of my favorite pieces (although, they are a bit hard to incorporate at times).

PS. I saw this on brickshelf before I read your post and I was wondering if those hunters planned to eat the Hippogryphs.

I am curious if it would be safer for the poach... I mean hunters to just steal an egg while the parents are away and start a domestic line of hypogriph steads. Awesome moc though.

A very formidable cliff, with rather formidable opponents as well! As others have said, it's full of great action. The nest and eggs are very nice. You could easily use this as a set in your Lord of the Rings series of MOCs (so don't take it apart quite yet!).

I thought this might be the case. Both are really cool.
Cool, a complementary MOC. I love the nest, and the lower part of the cliff, especially the crevice. I'm not so fond of the top half - I think it needs more slopes to match the style of the bottom half. Excellent action scene. Thanks for the mention,
