giant BF fig on horse at Frechen

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

I've seen several giant-sized minifig MOCs, but this is the first one I've ever seen on a horse:

(by a German AFOL on display at Frechen).

That's pretty neat. I haven't seen one on a horse either.

 That's a lot of black. Is it solid on the inside or hollow? If it's solid that's one heavy model.

Actually, LEGO made a slightlylarger horse much like this one in 1984 for their World Show. Its amazing how similar these two sculptures are.

You are right, I hadn't seen those pics before, thanks! BTW, you have some typos in your links. I fixed them in the quote...hope you don't mind.

Those horses are pretty cool! Long live the BF!
I wonder why the fig has eyebrows though...
I think you can see parts of a red Spaceman and a traffic signal on the sides. I looked through the gallery, there are some awesome pirate mocs!

Hello!

The horse and the other sculptures are built by Tobias Reichling. Here you can see some more pics of its construction as well as the builder himself:

Wow, I would love to have a super-sized mounted knight... (Puts that on the to-do list, if I ever get the time to do it...)

Thanks for the additional info, Jojo. I'll try to study his construction pictures closely!
