I have been a fan of Legos all my life practically. When I was a kid I loved them, especially the medieval ones. Eventually, as most of you probably did, I "got out" of them. But, as you see, this did not last! I'm actually a new Lego collector, as I just started back up last summer. I have built with my Lego sets every once-in-a-while, but never since my "childhood" so-to-speak did I buy or want to but any more.
So, after I started seriously considering the hobby again, I finally broke and bought some Legos I saw on discount. (My return to the hobby was no doubt helped by those drool-inducing Vikings.) I mainly like to build temporary dioramas with my Legos and take pictures of the scenes (be it a fierce battle, a giant spider, or an attack by dinosaurs!).
I have many interests, too many, in fact, but, in a nutshell, they usually have something to do with science or history (hence my posting name). My favorite science is biology, especially dinosaur paleontology, and as to history my all-time favorite is the American Civil War. I really have way too many hobbies, and this excuse was one of the reasons that I thought over in my head about not collecting Legos (obviously, the reason was not convincing enough). I collect books, fossils, militaria, stamps, coins, and much more, and I also love painting plastic soldiers for dioramas. This hobby is also big, and many modelling manufacturers create tons of figure sets for this very reason, so that the painter does not have to settle for a bag of green, generic, grocery store "Army Men."
My favorite Lego are knights, as I love the history, and also what beats imagining little Lego warriors swinging mighty axes and swords against their evil Viking or barbarian foes? I loved the Adventurers when they came out, and the Yeti's Hideout is one of, if not THE, favorite set of mine, but the Viking Fortress that my Grandma bought me for Christmas (isn't she a nice Grandma?
Anyway, I have probably ranted on enough here, so I'll close here.
