Ides of March (Part I)

Postby Athos » Tue Mar 14, 2006 3:33 am

In honor of Wednesday being the Ides of March, I've decided to declare this 'Caesar Week.' To celebrate, I plan to create a vignette each day portraying an incident from Caesar's life.

Here is the first, Caesar Crosses the Rubicon:

The whole imperial gallery:

Nice. I especially like the soilder behind J.C. - he just screams, "Gallic" :D

So will Caesar get murdered Wednesday or Friday?

Haven't decided yet. Probably Wednesday, since I've got the forum nearly finished.

This is a great idea, Steve! The class I T.A. for just finished reading Julius Caesar, so this is good timing.

As for the vignette itself, it looks good. The scenery and figs are very believable. :)

It's great. The simplicity allows for the details to come through well. I like how you have constructed the figs, and I can't wait to see more.

That's a funny "ide"a, and well executed. But I don't think the bull shield works, I would give him a serpent shield.
Is it just me, or is that frog gray?

he just screams, "Gallic"

Sometimes I read posts too fast and I thought that said "garlic", not gallic.
