Museum Of Rare LEGO Items

Post by CAI »

Greetings,

Here it is, the museum of LEGO rare items.

The idea is for all members to post information on their rare items including where and how they were found/purchased/acquired. If your not sure, try a little detective work.

Detailed pictures would be a must.

Items of main interest are official pieces that never appeared in sets or were not suppose to appear.

So if you could share information and pictures, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Okay, here is my contribution.

This pic is one each of all my rare pieces:

In this pic you can see that there are two different green goblets. One has a ridge at the bottom of the handle area.

This last pic is for Nathan (Norro), since he was complaining about my goblets ;)

I got all of these from various bricklink stores. I got the green helmet from the guy who posted here some time ago and a bunch of people said he painted them. :) The beards and white hair I got at Brickathon. I got the green heads, and all the goblets from two different stores in the UK (I forget their names).

I asked all of them about the origin of these pieces. All of them gave me a vague story about an "inside" connection.

If you have any questions, ask away!
Josh

PS. I have 3 black beards, 2 white hairpieces, 10 green heads, and 1 green helmet.
AFOL and his money are easily parted.

Any interest in parting with the beards or hair?

If you don't own it, then you need to give credit to the person who does. If you don't know who it is, then give credit to the site from which you got the pic.

Howdy!

Since Josh brought up the subject of heads, below is a photo of 16 different color heads that I've got.

I don't know which ones are considered rare, but many are probably uncommon.

Nice, I never knew green goblets existed. I'd like to contribute to this, but I only have usual rarities. I'll have to check on a green goblet. The beards and white hair..any more on thoes. Were they selling them? or giving them away as unused prototypes?

Sorry...

I found the picture on www.Legofigs.com. They do not own it either since it is in their wanted column. I wonder who does...

By the way, you can order almost all those different colored heads of http://www.findmybrick.com, and I think they are fairly cheap incase anyone wants one. I have not ordered any because I don't want one.

I've got a blue visor, 3 light-yellowish-orange visors, 2 chrome cutlasses, 1 chrome flintlock, a whole load of unusually coloured heads, and lots of strangely misprinted torsos. I also have lots of old yellow bricks, and strange colours of bricks that came free with a Toys R Us deal.

PS: I'm gonna try and post a picture of them all soon.

Does anyone know if the ghost glows (either red or green?)?

Another slightly rare piece is the body of Jayko that comes in the watch set. Instead of having armor, the design is printed on the body itself.

P.S. Who's Jojo?

I really can only think of two pieces: the light gray spider and the light gray axe (not the ornate halberd), both of them the old gray, not the new bley. The spider came in the Adventurers Dino Research Compound (great theme!) and the gray axe came in the KK 1 castle set. I bought some of these last summer from a seller on eBay who actually gave me a few extra pieces (the same spiders and some rats), so they were quite nice!
