Your 1st Amendment Rights

Postby SavaTheAggie » Sat Apr 01, 2006 12:45 am

To all Classic-Castle forum members:

Regarding your 1st amendment rights:

You have none. Not here, in C-C.

You American forum members, and those others with similar rights granted to you by your country, do have Constitutionally protected rights to free speech.

But at the same time, you do NOT have a Constitutionally protected right to a membership to this forum. No where in any government sanctioned document does it state that you are guaranteed a membership to this website regardless of how you use it.

This means that you must follow all rules we set out in order to keep that membership. If you break those rules, we are within our rights as owners and operators of this private forum and website to bar your participation therein.

You have the right to say whatever you wish. Just not in here.

The main limitations on speech at Classic-Castle.com are discussing any topics that are not LEGO, LEGO Castle, or medieval related. This is stated in the Terms of Service (TOS)and on several threads in the forums. It is your responsibility as a member of this site to know and follow the TOS:

http://www.classic-castle.com/tos.html

Please use other sites to discuss non-LEGO topics. The admins will continue to moderate this forum to prevent the off topic problems that sites like www.lugnet.com currently have.

And From Bricks to Bothans, and Eurobricks...

That's what I like about CC- it's the place I come to to be bombarded with nothing but LEGO. No banthas in their coffee shops, no off-topic discussion... Thanks CC.

Oh, and 'amendment' only has two 'm's...

I think it should be clarified that this is not a change in policy, just a clear statement of policies that have been in effect from the very beginning.

So don't expect secret police and such, the level of secret policing will be the same as always ;)

This was brought on by the recent actions of a former member who thought that the rules didn't apply to them. After repeated requests they refused to obey the rules.

They have been smote. The King does not like to be disobeyed. Don't let it happen to you.

Has someone been breaking the rules? Has some slanderous and off-topic speaking been occuring? May the Lord have mercy on their souls.

This reminds me of the old proverb (crudely paraphrased):

Do not argue with dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I would like to thank the Admins and Mods for doing a stellar job at keeping this site both relevant and cordial. Rarely if ever do I remember a truly heated flame war within the hallowed halls of the Classic-Castle forums. For the most part, the Admins/Mods have kept the peace.

I also appreciate that you administrators take the time to aprise users of current situations. When a rule is broken, you have been quick to explain the mishap and provide instructions in order to prevent it from happening again. This is one of the many features that has kept me coming back to CC, when I have so much difficulty even looking at certain other sites these days.

Bravo (and not in a sarcastic or snooty Monty Pythonesque way)!

I also agree with that!
We should all bare in mind that our freedom limits reach out as far as the freedom of the others. So let's respect each other!

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."?

I don't get it... Is C-C- trying to start a church?

"...or abridging the freedom of speech..."

Pffff. Silly lawyer. Only looking at a part of the whole....;)

But all joking aside, thanks, CC.
