Prices for Viking Sets 7020 and 7021

Post by SavaTheAggie »

Found this link over on FBTB:

http://www.leguide.com/sb/leguide/reche ... 060500.htm

Not entirely sure you could call it a leak, but be prepared to see this thread disappear if it is.

In any case, it would seem that 7020, the viking set with the 7 minifigs, is going for 27 Euro, and 7021, the viking set with the double catapult and dragon, is going for 43 Euro. (assuming I read that currency symbol correctly as Euro)

That works out to be about $32 USD, and $52 USD respectively.

Given LEGO's propensity to price US sets lower than the actual conversion rate, it would seem these sets will go for something like $25-30 and $40-50. A bit higher than I'd have liked, but I'll accept the lower prices on both the ranges.

That is a touch expensive for me, but we'll see when they come out. I think the other sets were so well priced respectively. Maybe they are raising the prices based on teh sucess of the frist year? At any rate I prbably will still end up purchasing them.

That sounds entirely reasonable to me. Remember, people, TLC is a business! They have to make money! Seven figs in a $30 dollar set is great.

I thought we all agreed the 7-fig catapult would be 30,I mean the catapult is about that sort of size and with 7 figs... :D :D .Being that TLC likes having a slightly more expensive set as well per catagory and that the trebuchet along with the dragon no doubt makes up a nice bit o` peices...50 Bucks it is!If you don`t like LEGO`s prices these days you won`t like these either, but this is the standard now. Can`t wait for them to come out :)
I've been let back on, zip-adee-doo-dah!

Hmm...seven well-armed, useful figs in a £17 set? What has Lego come to...

...better times, it seems.

Thanks for pointing this out, Sava.

Sounds good doesn't it!?!?

I just hope they don't overprice the sets a la the 2006 airport. :(

I also think the prices seem fair when compared to the amount of minifigures and size of the sets. There have not been many castle minifig intensive mid price range sets lately so this is a nice change. The whole Viking line had good introductory prices. Recently I have noticed price hikes in the US at Toys R Us because they exclusively sell Vikings here.

Anyone notice there appears to be two viking ships on that link? Both at different prices... One doesn't seem to have the serpent in the pic. Think it means anything?

Yes, I think it means that that page is selling LEGO and playmobil viking sets. I think that $30 is quite a good price, considering how much other sets of similar piece counts cost.

P.S. Yes, just like LEGO is properly all capitals, playmobil is properly all lowercase.

Edit: Oh, now I see the second LEGO one. Hmm, what does that mean? They also have two playmobil viking boats, and two playmobil viking supersets.

Oh, thanks. Silly me . If I had looked at the web adress, I might have figured it out. It's a guide to different stores.

Well, considering that Image cost $40, I can't complain. In fact, I can't remember the last time a set came with seven figures at such a bargain-basement price. I can only hope LEGO doesn't continue to rob us up here in Canada with a $50+, and $70+ pricetag  . The cost difference between Canadian and US LEGO sets is huge (yes, even after the currency exchange).

I wonder what this means for Battle at the Pass? (I'm expecting a $60 pricetag on that one myself).

Hmm, that seems a bit high. I'd say forty bucks, tops. The 50$ set has 6 mini-figs and a skeleton, (or is there only one shadow knight?) and there appears to be twice as many parts as the battle of the pass. Eh, maybe I'm just delusional...but 60 dollars? :x

Hello!

Yes, that's the €uro symbol.
And be happy and rejoice, those are prices in Europe. The total includes the VAT which makes them seem high. Also the prices given in the rightmost column are including shipping (livraison), so you have to look at the leftmost price, convert it to US$ and subtract 20%.
