eofalshire Hacked

Postby E of Alshire » Wed Apr 12, 2006 6:08 pm

My Brickshelf seems to have been hacked, and everything deleted. I shouldn't be vain enought to presume that anyone's saved my pictures, should I?

Any advice on what to do?

Wow...this reminds me now that I should backup, since most of my pictures are on BS with out any backups.

I would suggest contacting the BS admin. I guarantee that Brickshelf has it's own backup..the admin should be able to recover your shots.

Good luck.

Hmm, that's too bad. Don't you have another account, ThirdCrusade I think? You should check that one too.

Yeah, I did (do) and it's still okay. That's where I got my tower contest pictures. My bigger worry now is all the junked-out threads with dead links...

Thanks CAI, i'll do that.

Most odd. I've never heard of a Brickshelf gallery account being hacked. Brickshelf has, however, had several "server hiccups" in it's past where random accounts get obliterated.

This is why I ALWAYS back up my pics...

Oh, and I'm moving this to publishing

Unfortunately true.

My Brickshelf was one such casualty. Still, its worth contacting Brickshelf to see if they can help you out. They may be able to assist you in recovering your lost work. I can only wish you the best, as it is never fun losing your folders (and your view-count).

Have you contacted BrickShelf's administrator, Kevin Loch?

support@brickshelf.com

or

kloch@opnsys.com

Maybe he can help.

I backup my pics on gmail, the amount of space lets you attach anything you want and send it to yourself, except .exe stuff. I'll send you an invite if you want. PM me.

I'm on Gmail already, and that's a great idea. Pure genius, in my opinion. 8)
