Trans Red circlular shield

Does any one know about this peice? i have 2 trans red circlular shield the same style as the old grey ones for knights. i wasnt able to find them on bricklink however. Just wondering how old they are or if they are rare

those shields come in three classic space sets from 1984

They came from one of the really early space sets, as radar dishes or something. They are moderately rare and go for a good price when they are available for sale.

I recently purchased two trans red shields on bricklink. They sold for about 2.50 USD each.

There are also apparently trans-clear shields of the same type, if I remember correctly.

Yes, those also were found in some early classic-space sets. I have two from set 452, Mobile Tracking Station:
