Ah ha! As soon as I replied to your post on my topic, brody, and was browsing the forums (as usual) and I saw your name as the creater!!! I didn't even make the conection until about five seconds ago. This creation is awesome. I am really glad that the kind remarks to your keep made you come in at long last and join! I began posting here because of the same reason, but not because of any excellent creation I came because I read some posts and realized every one here is so friendly. THANK YOU ALL CC POSTERS FOR BEING FRIENDLY!

Great work! The scenery, heigh balances, concept, and design are all excellent! The well and path compliment each other nicely and the raised drawbridge is implimented to perfection. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

It is nice to see an impressive tower for the Lions/Crusaders. I like the windows in the top of your tower, the buttresses, gate, and bridge.

I likw how he has the suport for the roof sticking out, it gives it a neat feel. The entrance also has some very nice detail and the landscaping is terrific.

It's great! I especially like how he used some early firearmsfor some soldiers hinting that it was definatley placed in the late 1500's. I liked how he mixed it up. And I LOVE the mushrooms he added to the side of the castle.

It was a pleasure to build for the Lions/Crusaders. They were by far my favorite faction (sorry Black Falcon fans), and 6080 was my most cherished set as a kid in the 80's.

Col du Mont is indeed a border tower built to protect the high mountain pass between two countries. It sits in a lushly forested valley that was carved out by a glacier during a previous ice age. The time period for the build is indeed roughly the late 1500's.

Great work brody! I like how the style has a more LEGO Castle-ly feel to it. Although the background you did made it look like the type of work Hashi does.

Wow, this is quite the MOC! Some of my fav details are the telescope, the chimney, the well, and the stairway. Also, although it is not historically accurate, the musket in the knight's hand is a nice touch. Very well done!

BTW, do you have any interior shots?

Well, thanks to everyone who posted such positive responses to my little MOC. Your kind comments were enough to bring me out of my "occasional lurker" status. I thought it would be unfair not to credit some of the builders whose work inspired me as I was working on this project. User CAI, yes I loved the lamp design you used, I don't know if you were the originator, but great design. The sword holder came from Brickshelf user Denix. I just came out of my dark ages in January 06 and now I'm totally hooked. I've often credited the Lego building I did as a kid with helping me to develop my creative skills, and leading me to a career in Design. I hope to post more of the work I've been doing soon.

PS. There's no interior yet, but I'm working on another tower now and will be working on an interior for that project. One thing at a time!

Welcome brody, don't know if i'm the originator of that lamp design either. I built it a few months ago and know one here had seen it before, and that surprised me. Fits well in your MOC to. Pain to balance them, hey.

But did anyone else notice that the knight and the soldier(captain?) are wearing epaulets under the euro-armour? Neat trick!

I used to do that when I was little, playing with my 1 euro armor piece and my Imperial Guards. The 'General' always had yellow epaulets and my lone euro-armor.
