Selling my lego collection from over 10 years of collecting

Post by Tyler »

I'm going to post pictures of the collection ASAP, and soon put on Ebay, but I'm curious as to how popular this would be. I have a bunch, I mean a BUNCH of castle figs and Star Wars figs. I also have a bunch of sets still built. I would not include any badly worn parts or minifigures, all pieces will be in good condition.

Okay , I added pictures and a really bad video.
I'm asking for around $500 canadian or so...I don't know. I just need $1000 dollars (I already have 250)
It might sound like a lot (or does it?) But I know that I could get around $1500 if I sold each individual piece on Bricklink. I have SO many minifigures that people would buy for $3-10 each, I can post pictures of stuff like that if anybody is actually interested. Just request some pictures or videos if these do not satisfy you..

BTW, the sound is a few seconds slow...don't know why.

Man, seriously, any chance on putting that on hold for like a month and maybe a half? Do you live in canada, cause I saw you said canadian dollars, if you live anywhere in saskatchewan, I may be able to pay you in person, but saving up to $500 will take the time I said earlier. I would to, if it was still up by then.
I ow it to wunztwice for directing me here.

As nice as I would like to be, I sorta need the money within the next few weeks; or atleast before I move at the very beginning of July. Sooner the better.
Also, someone might bid higher then $500 on it. But I won't forget your offer. :]

How many minifigs do you have, total? And how many castle minifigs do you have? If you are too busy to count them out then an estimate would suffice. I hope I'm not causing you too much trouble. I've been trying to stock up on castle minifigs lately (pirate and space minifigs are also welcome), and I just so happen to have a nice sum of cash burning a hole in my pocket...

Thanks in advance!

are you selling the whole thing bulk? because while there is a LOT of stuff there I would want, there's also a lot of stuff there I wouldnt..
If you do decide to sell some smaller lots, then I would definitely be interested.. (eventually I have got to get a greedo) :D
(btw - if you are committed to selling it as a single lot, then I completely understand)

As someone who is in the process of selling his collection, I would suggest that you split it up into smaller lots. For Example Star Wars Stuff in one auction, If you have complete sets that are larger or more rare, sell the sets individually. Same goes for castle and other themes. Try your best to make complete sets as bulk lots do not sell as well. For bulk bricks with no minifigs, you can expect between $7-10 a pound, not a great return on your investment. Good luck,

Will
After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

Yes, you would do much better to sell by the piece (set). if you have sets that sell decent alone, do that and then clump the smaller, lesser valued sets. and sort by theme, starwars, castle, pirate whatever... and put your auctions on at the same time (maybe stagger them by 10 minutes) and offer a combined shipping discount on multiple wins. there are many people that want this and that but wont bid on the lot. just some ideas

I know some people want to sell the whole works to one person rather than wait on payment from 10 different people and ship to 10 different places (not to mention, sorting everything and making sure pieces are there). you do have to work for you money selling legos  I know it gets time consuming putting sets together but you do get more if you can tell the buyers everything is there (or at least what isnt there). some people take a picture of a box of legos and say it looks like its all there (theres no such thing as "looks like its all there", taken apart most sets dont look like much)

hope all this helps
Always looking for vintage Lego VW's
