New Castle 10176 Pictures

Post by Glencaer »

Direct from Steve Witt and TLG, check out these new pictures!

Image

Close up of the Drawbridge, King with Gold Armor, Blacksmith (dwarf?). Check out the new face design!

Steve Witt tells me the price is $99.99, but is unsure of the number of pieces.

For some strange reason, TLG has posted the instructions here.

I don't know about you guys, but this set isn't half bad. It reminds me of a dacta set, and it comes with lot's of old helmets! The ghost and wizard look intresting, and there's an excessive amount of classic castle wall pieces. Overall, it's not too bad.

I wonder if it will still include the two knights we saw in other pictures.

Hmm, $100 seems like a lot to me for this set. The walls dont' even connect or go completely around it. And is it me or does the wizard only have a plain torso? hmmph

Howerver, I do appretiate the effort and will probably try to pick up some of the figs/fig wear to show my support some. I also like that it comes with that dog, that's nice.

Ouch!
I hope theres enough pieces to justify that price.

My favorite part about this set is the red armor.
Look at the bottom right corner of the blacksmith pic.
The design for that armor looks great as far as I can tell.

So that will mean for us Canucks around $140-150CAD

With soo many other good sets out this year it will be hard to part with that kind of money.....

Legend 6086, 6085 or 6080 or a similar fig ratio and style and I would have no quams about the price.

Well it looks fair. Not quite good and far from outstanding. Still it is a marked improvement over some of the KK2 crap we've been seeing.

I agree it looks a lot like a Dacta set. Sort of unfinished with a lot of pieces thrown together.

It is definitely bley as I have seen the actual model. Whenever bley models have blue highlight colors it is harder to tell the difference from old grey. If you make a bley castle with red and yellow highlights it will be very evident.

It's a nice set, but I wish they would go with a new kk2 icon for the flags instead of the old Leo ones. I also would have like if instead of the normal black neck protectors to be speckled or some other new color.

Is this the final model, or are these just preliminary shots?

They remind me of the early photos of KK2, the first year, and the excitment there. The models changed a bit between the idea shots and the final product.

Hi,

It looks like the great big Royal Nights Castle and KK1 Castle. There are more wall pieces included, it has a nice gate and a nice tower and even a Blacksmith inside, but it does not seem to have a lot minifigure's. I also wonder how the back at the left side looks like, maybe there is a prison or something else?
It is definetely beter than both KK series! I am curious what the other sets in this castle line look like!

Greetings,

José

On the castle it is of bad design (unenclosed wall? ) but really decent parts, they try to bribe AFOLs with classic wall and grey lion stone, wont say it wont work, really.

The castle definitely looks like a throw-back to some of the classics that we all love (royal knights castle, king leo's castle, etc.). And this is something that i would definitely get.... i say "would" get, not "will" get.

I do enjoy the large number of wall pieces and while things are unenclosed, it is definitely a good source of very useful pieces. But... with me it's all a color issue and i have not yet devoted myself to mixing bley into my collection (except for UCS models and such). I am sure that i will pick this model up many years from now as the construction and overall look of it is impressive. But for now i'm still trying to get some older models from the mid-80s that i missed out on when i was younger.

Definitely a step in the right direction i'd say though.... at least there aren't any jellybeans here 8)
