BrikWars: Slaughter at Whitedragon Garden

Post by Sibley »

Hello, hello, hello!

Inspired by Fry-Slayer's amusing write-up, I have finally created a write-up of the Brikwars battle that occured at my home on June 12, 2006. The write-up is done comic-book style and can be seen on Brickshelf here. For background information regarding the characters and factions involved, see the MOCpage here.

I hope you enjoy!

Destroyable structures, heroic feat mayhems, raging beasts and big ship! You are following the official Brikwars rule? Which side were you on?
Great landscaping (Mine is lame to compare with) for a game too!

Some pictures are a bit dark, personally i took my pictures with "soft-flash". May be you can try that out too since it gives brighness to the pioctures without producing too much hard high lights.

Now about the cleaning...
 Thats about the only reason why we wont wage a bigger war for now... the scenario of 2 baracudas bombarding a castle probably takes 2 hrs + for clean up alone ...

We used the official BrikWars rules, more or less. Mostly less. We did a lot of guessing and making stuff up. I controlled the Taraks (red), who, despite their far superior numbers, got totally trashed.

Thanks! I tried to make some interesting landscapes for troops to take advantage of, but mostly what mattered was the chokepoint slaughterhouses.

I meant to say it in my original post but forgot: sorry about the some dark photos. This is basically my first time taking Lego pictures inside, at night, without a backdrop, so I didn't really know what I was doing.

Haha, and it still isn't really cleaned up... just moved back into the basement! Seriously though, it was kind of tedious moving all my guys every turn.

Yap i see you are playing without "troop plate" which can takes a lot of time placing them after every move.

Try this: Putting 2x3 or 2x4 plate underneath each trooper. Sure it wont look as nice in photography but for the sake of flow of the game, you can move them around like chess pieces and it is well worth it. We did try beta games before without the troop plate so we know :)

Well, having it look good for the camera was a pretty high priority for me. Because we didn't use troop plate is one of the reasons I made a full landscape (beside looking good, of course). This battle actually had a reduced number of troops from the last one, but I think in any future battle no army will get more than 10 guys.
