Good evening,

Just finished this gate house that attaches to theTower. The weight of them both is bending the table inward...so they won't join properly.

I won' be finishing the monstrosity I had in mind. I'll be moving soon and i'll have to take them all apart, that's gona be a pain. :D

This is a great gatehouse. I really like the wooden hoardings (yes, I know those are usually on the outside) on the back. I think this is my favorite pic, it shows how well the wooden part is built. For some reason, I pictured this with another wall section between it and the tower, and also on the other side (you might've said it would go on this side, I don't remember).

That's too bad. I was looking forward to seeing this. Ah well, at least you won't have to spend a lot of money on Bricklink for the pieces (if you don't already have them)!

I loved the tower, and I love the gatehouse. The style you have created seems very realistic,yet super interesting as well, sometimes a hard infusion to master. Thanks for sharing!

I love the crenalations. They might be the best I've ever seen. Also, the way you have broken up the wall to keep it from being flat make for a spectaular overall appearance.

I guess the tower escaped my attention, WOW! The overall design is not Earth-like, but more middle-earth (I see Bombadil found the place). I don't do that kind of ornamentation to my walls, so I really appreciate those who do, and yours are outstanding. With the landscaping thrown in, it's a great MOC.

I hope your move doesn't precipitate a Dark Age. Get back to us with more when you can,

It somehow reminds me of our recent featured MOC Col Du Mont...
But just reminds me, I see it's unique work :wink:
And it's about crusaders :D

Great MOC! :shock:

I really like all of the detail. I liked the tower, and this is just as great. To bad that you will have to take it apart when you move :cry: .

Anyway, I hope to see more MOCs from you as soon as possible.

Really cool, as the others already said, the details are great! I really like the wooden construction above the gate in the inner side, but I`m not so fond of the wooden stairway. The armoury on the gate is a bit strange, becouse they will rust in the weather. (Sorry for the grammar)

That's a very unique gatehouse and I love the wooden structure along the back.
I also like how you made the road way, it looks very good!
The scene with the minifigs is fantastic as well.

That's an honest beauty. I like all the detail you put into it. The wood house you added on looks awsome, it compliments the tower somehow, just makes it look even better. Great job! Are you adding a wall to this?

Hey,

Cool. Love the shot of the Gatehouse and Tower together, you have integrated them very well. The brick-built gates are beautiful. I especially like how you have incorporated so much brown, in proportion with the other colors, into this project. I think it helps give your work a lot of character, and a unique feel. More authentic...somehow.

You've snuck in some bley here and there which is bothersome, but sometimes we're stuck with what's available eh?

Ps. Not sure exactly why people keep comparing our work, Col du Mont Tower seems pretty different to me.

Glad you guys like, thanks for the compliments. A Col du Mont Tower comparison is also a compliment, though both unique in many ways.

Yep, I had a Tolkien thought through the whole creation...the return of the king was in mind for the gate house, although not exact.

I don't have the pieces to finish what I had in mind, so moving is the best way to end this madness. :D

It was most fun setting the figs for sure.

No dark age, when I settle again, i'll start the hobbit hole I had in mind beginning with that door.

This is a good creation as a vignette itself...
But I think it would be small if you put it in Bag End MOC... Those doors will be small even for the hobbit minfig...
Anyway, GREAT concept for one

PS: By comparing GateHouse to Col Du Mont Tower (as CDMT is definitly one of my favourite creations ever) I wanted to give the compliments to CAI (and I said somehow,you know... never even "slightly the same").

I love, love, love the hobbit house door. Brilliant, and very authentic looking.

The tower and gate look great, although I have to ask if you were intending the gatehouse to be deeper? The willow tree on the edge of the tower MOC looks half finished, like it was intended to be flush up against a wall. The entire right side of it is bald. Maybe add some more foliage so it looks less lopsided?
