Brickfest galleries
HERE is my castle gallery so far. I've got a bunch more pics to go through, and I was tired last night so only got a few up. I promise some close-ups of the dragon later.

The Roman town and Italian Knight are mine. The Castle on the cliff was built by Stever DeCraemer, I'm sure most of you recognize his work from last year's BF. It's amazing to think that Lego didn't select him as a master builder this year during try-outs.

It's huge. I saw it earlier, and thought it was a bit bigger than the one that comes with the Viking Fortress. Geez, how did he do that?Jacob C. wrote:Look at this pic:

Well, seeing as he also built things like Cankerworm and The Rack, it's not much of a surprise that this is so spectacular.kelderic wrote: It's huge. I saw it earlier, and thought it was a bit bigger than the one that comes with the Viking Fortress. Geez, how did he do that?

DeCraemer's cliff castle is great, and I like your Italian Knight, Recluce. The SHIPs and Moonbase modules are awesome, as are the giant Mecha. The town layout is kinda boring to me, but the construction is fantastic on some parts of it. I really like everything, but I'm just viewing it all from pictures.

Oh............. thanks for those pics, Recluce (or Freak rather I presume). That truly is a work of art, I especially love the use of those wing(?) pieces all over the body. What set are they from anyway?
I really like those Italians as well, the one in the front with the euroarmour is just awesome!

The wing pieces are from the Ewok Attack set made several years back.
THe Italian knight I had fun with, and once I get some more pics taken I'll post them in the customs section with all appropriate info.

What exactly is a master builder? I have heard the term alot, but I don't really know what it means. It is a person who designs sets in the official lines, or a person who builds the big displays?Recluce wrote:It's amazing to think that Lego didn't select him as a master builder this year during try-outs.

A Master Builder is a person who builds the large models and other things at the LEGOLand parks. They would probably build store displays as well. Set designers are the ones who design the sets.kelderic wrote:What exactly is a master builder? I have heard the term alot, but I don't really know what it means. To Recluce, maybe he didn't try out? Or did he say he did? Even if he did, there are a lot of talented builders, and I've heard the competition is close.

Now that would be an amazing job.

He did try out, went to Legoland in CA earlier this year. He did say there were some amazing builders here. Seeing as he's in our LUG and the asst. manager of the lego store here I get to see his creations all the time (its a great excuse to go to the store).
