I find it strange that the peasant woman actually has her top untied. It seems a bit edgy. Perhaps she's LEGO's first working lady . In all honesty, I kind of liked the earlier design shown on the preliminary Advant Calender image. It fit better with the skirt design. Perhaps we'll be lucky and see both designs make it to market (I'm not counting on it though).
The jester still looks awesome. Can't wait to see him with the proper headgear.
I don't know why everyone says they like the OLD peasent better.
The new barmaid peasent girl is VERY VERY SEXY!
She is so hot and I'm glad they really emphasize her femine qualities.. she is the sexiest minifig to come out since the Islander Girl and Slave Leia... I am going to take these 3 minifigs and make a "special" Rest and Relaxation area for my Knights...
They are so appealing and desirable, the new barmaid makes me wish I was a minifig...
P.S. If you need help making MOCs, making posts, or don't know what to do next, please, let me know! I'm here to help!

I can't decide to laugh... or just stare.
Never seen anyone talk about minifigs quite like this!
But since(I assume ) this is a peasant woman, I would really like a peasant man at some point. Maybe I am greedy, but I need both.

I like her too, but not that much.
Now go take an ice cold shower.

Hehe, good point. I'm not so sure this is a proper discussion for a thread on an advent calendar. That said, I still stick by my guns. I like the first version better, and the second version is too promiscuous for little kids to get thier hands on.
dragonblade24 wrote:i know wow! it would be very cool if creator built some more castle themed mini sets though you have to agree with that. I think that whole drinking tradition will continue in the advent calander. after all they did drink in the middle ages. oh yeh, the witches dress will be a never before seen torso and i think she may be in future sets(2009 maybe)
if they did create castle sets like that they mite be for ldd wich is likey concendering this http://us.factory.lego.com/pab/?warning=false but thats off topic so. the pics are nice but I wish to get a parts list before I buy

I honestly don't think either one is a good option. But giving the fact that there has been worse (Leia and Islander), I'd say it's more or less to be expected. And how many kids are going to want to buy an advent calendar anyway?
At any rate, I think that any of the older female castle torsos (can only think of one at the moment), would have done just as well.

This question would be best decided by the parent buying this set for the child. I would think that had this set been available when I was 6-12, my mom would have bought it. Back then people weren't so over cautious about stuff like that. Most boys probably wouldn't care about that figure too much and would be more interested in the knight, dwarf, and skeleton figures. I like either version as both look realistic.
Every time I read the line "the second version is too promiscuous" I laugh out loud. If a kid is thinking that, its most likely due to school, kids at school or TV ads or any one of many outside influences. Kids will get "to that age" no matter how "safe" one tries to make their life. LEGO would not have designed the figure to "be sexy". I want the figures to be realistic, not following some narrow definition of acceptability.

This discussions is laughable. What it really comes down to is the weird phenomenon of certain people who think that somehow a womans chest is more "evil" or sexual than a man's chest. That idea has been ridiculously propagated by the American media for years despite common sense. Let's all remember that breasts are what feeds these precious babies that everyone cares so much about. Wouldn't that deserve a bit more reverence instead of suppression? It's not a far cry from those full body covers those Muslim women wear.

Ironic.
I don't see anything provocative about it. It is a printed piece of plastic. Children walk around and see much worse on a daily basis. It is a very moderate amount of cleavage. I agree with Rebel, its dissapointing that this is even a discussion. All the figures look immaculate. There's no reason to complain about LEGO making things we've all been asking for, just because they don't meet your personal stanmdards of perfection.
I think the fig is fine in either iteration and I wouldn't have a problem with any of my kids owning one. However, every parent has to make their choices for their own kids and everyone else has to respect that.
Parenting Tip #1:
If you make a big deal out of it, your child will too.
Alright, even though this is technically still a discussion about an aspect of the Advent Calendar, this is getting a little silly. Let's just agree to have our own private opinions of the fig, and get on to dissecting other aspects of the set.
For starters, I'm not familiar with LEGO Advent Calendars, so I'm wondering if any of the prizes will have some form of Christmas tie in, like a tree or an old fashioned Christmas dinner arrangement.
