Yes, that would be fine.

In addition to what Ben said above (string and flex tube), we should also reiterate what it says in the rules:
the rules wrote:Custom stickers may be used for minifigure torsos, shields, and flags. You may use custom weapons only in the Custom Castle Figure and Miscellaneous categories. Brick built, custom, and LEGO animals can be used.

For the Pastoral Life category, one of the ideas was "defending a flock from wild animals".
Can this wild animal be a dragon, or some other mythical beast (not for the Mythical Battle category),
or does it have to be realistic?

Let me be more specific, I was planning to cut one flower stem off and use that. I'm guessing I can't, but I just would like to make sure.

No. The creature should be realistic like a bear, wolf, fox, etc. This is not a mythical category.

This would only be allowed in the custom figure categories.

Crud, oh well. The dragon is already made, but can I enter it into the Misc. category?

Or you could incorporate your dragon into a mythical battle scene.

Again i have a couple of questions.
1. I have finished my realisitc castle-entry and plan to enter and publish it soon. I will make a folder with the three pictures i will enter into the contest. But is it ok to create another and distinct folder on BS with additional pics that show the little scenes that are spread across the MOC? (and no, i do NOT plan to enter them into the CCC i just want to show that little scenes online)
2. I plan to enter a fig into the fantasy custom fig cat.. As Viking did worship their god until the 10th century (as far as i know), which falls into the time period of the contest, do norse gods qualify?
3. If norse gods qualify for the Custom Fig cat., is it ok to depict Odin mounted on or together with Sleipnir (his stallion with 8 legs)?

Yes. We (the judges) will only look at the gallery with the three pictures (at least until after the judging), but you are free to show however many pictures you wish in another gallery.

Yes, we have always considered Vikings as a sub-category of the castle theme.

This is a judgement call. Yes, people often include mounts as part of their custom fig creations. However, if the MOC is more about the cool brick-built creature, this may be more appropriate in the miscellaneous category. You might choose to incorporate Odin and Sleipnir into a "mythical battle" category entry.

I tried to go through the 8 pages, sorry if my question is a repeat:
in the mythical battle: has humanity to be saved against vile invaders? can it be e.g. arack'men (minifig torso on spider construct) repelling other invaders (fantaisy creatures: hellhounds, spiders etc...) ?
for the fantaisy minifig, I know size does not matter, but in this case do you expect "about" castle minifig size? I have some custms figures which are about as wide but about twice in height (slightly above troll size) than a minifig (wings excluded). Is this too big or ok? I have also a skeleton construct of 25cm...but that would trigger all kinds of giants something you may not wish? (trolls have, after all, their own castle and social organization ^^)
thanks for your help in getting another adult out of his dark age

To Admins,
Just an observation in viewing the submitted entries, why are some pics shown larger than others? Shouldn't they all be thumbnails of the entries?

That sounds like it would be fine.

That sounds like it's no longer a custom fig, but more of a sculpture, and so would be better in the misc. category.

I think the entry page automatically shrinks things down to, I believe, equal width. So if one person submitted an image that was 600x800 and another one that was 800x600, the final result would be different. Also, if someone submitted an image that was even smaller as their splash picture, it ends up looking smaller. I didn't do the actual coding, though, so maybe someone else has a better insight.

Some entries aren't showing as thumbnails at all though, but as full size images in the list of thumbnails. This also messes up the layout of the "view entries" page.

Hmm, it doesn't do that in Firefox, which is what I usually use, but I just checked it in Internet Explorer and see the problem you've been having.

In the Fairytale category, it says
"Build a scene from your favorite fairy tale."
Does this exclude the possiblity of incorporating multiple scenes into one model (
example)?
Cheeers =)
