Yes, I can see how the mummy would be problem. This is indeed a very notable exception.

My favorite is the

Flesh New Ron with the Awake/Sleeping Head. It really is useful.

I also like the Quarrel(did I spell that right?)/Voldemort head.

Thanks for your comments, but if you can use some links to the heads you are talking about, it would be nice. I now need to do some searching, as I am curious about the sleeping head.

Some of them are hard to cover up on the back with a hair piece, but the idea is great IMO.

Double-faced minifigs have their uses.

1. They remind us of the Roman god JANUS.
2. Diorama/Vig use.
3. Good for regular sets as well. If you don't like one side, use the other!

But it has its drawbacks. Like not being able to have the minifig without some kind of headgear to cover up the other face. And it looks creepy.

Both found in the Harry Potter "Rescue from the Merpeople" set. It's a great set, btw, with lots of fleshy parts (if you like that sort of thing), the cool Merperson, the pike in blue, and some nice underwater pieces.

The Quirrel/Voldemart head:

was in the Harry Potter Final Challenge set.

What's not to like? I have more classic smileys than I know what to do with, so I'm always looking for more faces -- especially ones with unique emotions.

On the problem of the back side showing out from under the hair, I'm generally not as bothered by that since I build primarily for the camera, so I can just swap in a blank head if I'm taking a photo from the back side.

Indeed, that's what I've done several times. I might have to change this as I begin to build more and more for display at events, but it's an easy problem to solve for the camera.

I doubt that would happen, since I assume that printing two faces is twice as expensive for LEGO.

I like the double sided faces for castle figs and maybe Star Wars because the helmets effectively cover up the second face but in many instances I find the mouth under the hair to be extremely annoying. But in sets like the new castle ones, they will work wonderfully.
