I am not a big fan of the gold armour, so I am not too stressed to not see it in the 2007 sets. I would like to see a brown (rusty) version of the armour, in some future set.

That'd be great, he could ride Rocinante with his sword and lance to attack the Windmill as Sancho watches him ride in his rusty armour!
I'd buy that.

Hey, maybe Lego could release a whole line of great literature themed sets-Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the like... ~sigh~ I can always dream...
But yeah, Don Quixote would be cool. On topic, I still don't like gold armour, though I would still be fine with accents, but I'm liking even the silver stuff less and less... the niceness of the original (Dark Grey or Bley, either way) was that it could be metal or stone, whereas silver armour on a grey atatue would look a bit odd... (latest Hogwarts statue, anyone? )
...and that's how Equestria was made!

But as a general rule, why on earth would you want your armour to be stone? Statues are the only reason I can think of. For my money, silver armour is better, though I wish we got more silver minifig parts to go with it. Not that I at all dislike the old grey armour -- quite the contrary. But 'I need armour for a statue' is a pretty narrow circumstance. Although I would like to see grey armour again - just not as a replacement to, or even as common as, the silver.
Forge not works of art but swords of death, for therein lies great art.

Well, that's why grey is good- because, if you do want stone armour, you can have it.Damien wrote:But as a general rule, why on earth would you want your armour to be stone? Agreed. There are many a stone statue that might not look so good in the jellybean armour.Shadowviking wrote:Well, that's why grey is good- because, if you do want stone armour, you can have it.Damien wrote:But as a general rule, why on earth would you want your armour to be stone? I like the Gold Armor, I used them for my Malayan factions.
The Gold Armors kinda have an (LOTR) "Elves" feel about them.

The old chrome breastplate would look much better in that gold color than the large plate armor accessory. That's what I'd like if gold armor returns.JPinoy wrote:I like the Gold Armor, I used them for my Malayan factions.

Chrome scratches too easily. Also, generally the more you have of something the less impressive it seems. If every Gondorian had an Anduril, it wouldn't have as much significance.Count Blacktron wrote:The old chrome breastplate would look much better in that gold color than the large plate armor accessory. But I don't think this topic matters anymore - looking at Castle 07, the king has a golden breastplate just with a lot of printing on top, so I guess the piece is still in circulation.

I meant that the old chrome breastplate should be resurrected *without* chrome, but rather in the gold color of the 2006 castle armor *molded* in gold. Messa shoulda been more clear, yesno?Sir Kohran wrote:Chrome scratches too easily. Also, generally the more you have of something the less impressive it seems.
